Not a bad summary pompeydownunder <ok> With eight members of the first team squad injured, and Hawkins having to play at centre half, the team did what they had to do in this match. It was important to gain the three points, ahead of the overall performance !

I am a season ticket holder, and see all the home matches, but don't attend away games. I have been mainly impressed with our home performances under our new manager so far. League One is a big step up from League Two, with a faster game and more skill involved. We have struggled at times to compete with other teams that are more organised, and with better players than we have, but it will come.

To my mind, this is a season of consolidation, to make sure we finish mid-table, and then hopefully go for it next season. Brett Pitman is a very important player for us, we rely on his guile, skill and natural goalscoring ability, and he helps bring the best out of other players.

We do have some good young players in our squad, who will benefit from a full season in this division, and with Kenny Jackett now looking at talented players currently performing in non-league with a view to signing them, I believe the future remains bright at Fratton Park.
