It would be funny if the only people permitted into 'The Afterlife' were the atheists, imagine how much nose-rubbing we could do. "Ok, you've not wasted your life praying to a fantasy being, you can come in....whoa, whoa, whoa, where the **** do you think you're going Moh? there's no virgins pal, get yourself in that there dark hole, you're off for a long sleep pal".
I am amazed that all religions are built on 'fear' in that they will go to hell if they don't believe (or have 76 virgins waiting for them). King James, in his wisdom, abridged the Bible which is what the believers read today. If they only read the original Bible in it's entirety (which will take an awfully long time - which is why King James abridged it) they will be so enlightened to find the truth. Nothing to be frightened about as these are the 'holy scriptures'. Us atheists know that there were more than ONE 'God' (Genesis 1.26: "Let US make man in OUR image, in OUR likeness") and they were NOT Divine Deities. I encourage them all to broaden their knowledge as what they know now is the equivalent of a pinprick on the surface of the Stadium of Light. There is so much more to learn.
My mothers side are all spiritualists and have some ok stories, but whether you believe them or not is up to you. Some might say its a coincidence but who really knows? My brother lived in Southampton for a while and one evening he phoned my mam up to say he had just seen my Uncle Tom walking down the street, he had to do a double take but when he did he was gone. He knew it couldn't have been because he was wheelchair bound and lived in South Shields. My brother phoned to tell my mam this and she had to stop him to say that he had died about ten minutes earlier as she had just had a call from My Aunt (Toms wife) telling her that he had died. Just had my mam down for the weekend (Easter) and she told me she went to a different spiritualist church to the one she normally goes to with a couple of her friends. They had never been to this place before and knew no-one there, as she walked into the hall a "speaker" said to her that she had a message and all it was, was "till the 12th of never". It was the song my dad sang to her and is on his headstone. How could anyone know that or even guess it? Quite a few other bits n bobs, even my wife has had "visits" and we know them to be from my Aunt Lila who was very close to my wife. Many years ago we were at a dog show and my wife came back from the loo and told me that she had just had a message from my Aunt Lila, being a bit sceptical myself i asked what she had said, She told me that she was going on her journey. She had breast cancer, anyway when we got back home we had a couple of missed calls from my mam, so i rang her back only to be told that my Aunt had died about the same time that my wife got her "message". Believe what you wish as we are all different but please don't mock.
When I mentioned about Spiritualists earlier Crumble all I said it just wasn't for me. As I also said, for those who attend the service that night, I was struck by how desperate people were to grasp at any suggestion made by the Medium. My own cousin took a message, but not before the guy had changed the name of the dead person 3 times. I totally get why people want to believe it, as my own family do. I wouldn't mock them either. Its just not for me.
Nobody is mocking my friend. I know religious people whose house is a shrine to their beliefs. Take their faith away and they have nothing to live for. Why do you think that the truth is being covered up? It would cause Armageddon. Currently the truth is being released in small doses to the History Channel where people like Georgio Tsoukalis (the man with the hair) loudly declare that "It MUST be Aliens" and people laugh it off. I believe in scientific fact and the fact is that our DNA has been genetically modified. 10,000 years ago we were all Homo Sapiens "Hunter-Gatherers" - and we were all black! The original Bible tells you what happens - remember that expression from 'X Files' - "The Truth is Out There"! - There is nothing to be afraid of. As regards spiritualism, I have friends who are spiritualists and believe strongly in their faith and have shown me photographs of ectoplasm etc but the Great Houdini blew these out of the water and in recent times I can recommend the video's of James Randi who has exposed hundreds of these people as frauds. I do not mock the 'unexplained' but have found most to be explainable after research.
I probably have mate but it is scientific fact nevertheless. According to the King James version of the Bible we all came from a man and a woman who had two sons. Just think about that. Take all the time you like!
i was only saying don't mock my stories as i believe them to be true. I have never had any messages or anything, i haven't seen a ghost or "spirit" and doubt i ever will. I do believe however that there is something more after this life, what it is though i just don't know.
I don't believe there is anything supernatural out there whatsoever, although if a ghost popped in to say 'hi' I'd sharp change my mind. My wife has a couple of ghost stories, one when she was in a bar and felt a cold hand on her back and another when she was in bed and she was visited by her (dead, obviously) grandma. As a natural piss taker it kills me not to poke fun at her as I don't believe a word of it but I try my best not to, especially the grandma one. I might not believe her but you can't force your opinions on people. Having said that, I do feel satisfied that I've talked her round into agreeing with me that psychics are either delusional or straight up con artists. I think she still feels some are genuine though.
Nobody is mocking people personally, but the idea of it is beyond ridiculous to me, messages to people and stuff, I got back from my gran's funeral and the following day I got a phone call from my sister-in-law who told me she'd been to a 'psychic' and she told her to tell me my gran had found my grandpa and they're both ok. A nice thought, but a quick trawl of my sister-in-law's facebook shows that she'd 'liked' a post related to the funeral in which my Auntie wrote that she hoped her parents were now back together after 26 years apart. I was in two minds whether to go and see that psychic myself and drown her in a bucket of my piss, but what's the point? To me, they give people hope and that can't really be a bad thing. Nobody knows how Dynamo does all of his tricks, but once he tells you how they're done, they all seem very plausible.
So do I my friend and I don't know either but I am sure that this song will convey your hopes. One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard (I am biased as I am a Country Music fan) but have a good listen to Brooks and Dunn "Believe" - hope you enjoy: P.S. Bet you cried.
I honestly don't know what i believe in. I agree that there are some nasty tricksters out there that need their heads banging together and also that there are some unexplained mysteries yet to be solved. I also feel that science will explain much more as time goes by, but when something has happened to someone close to you with no reason for them to make it up, it does start to make me wonder? I appreciate that everyone believes in something, even if there is nothing after this life for them. Its one of them debates that can stir up a lot of emotions but im cool with everyone's opinions and their beliefs
Talking about youtube has anyone seen the spider dog, funny as hell. That big foot series was a con as well on history channel, it was a bloke dressed up, in a frigging cage, what a con like Oak tree island. The best ghost programme was the one with Sarah greene called ghost watch in the 1990's I nearly crapped myself watching that.
My twopenneth worth. Last house down Eden Vale area. Had a poltergeist. Used to throw things at you. With some force I may add. Happened about 4 times. Dog never ever went upstairs in the 6 years we lived there. Stayed at the bottom n growled. Current house. Lady in a purple dress, fair hair, no face seemed to glide, as if on castors, past the open doorway and turned and looked at me. Room went freezing cold and then I had the mindset to check that my son was upstairs in he event he was into crossdressing. He was upstairs thankfully and to the best of my knowledge isnt a TV. Didnt scare me this thing and has only happened the once but it was weird.
When it comes to the supernatural, I am extremely sceptical. Having said that, there are a couple of things that I have saw and heard that I have not been able to explain..
My mam is spiritualist. As a kid, I once went to one of their meetings. 'Does anybody know a Bob?' Of course you daft ****, everybody knows a Bob ffs. What a ****ing crock of ****e. When you're dead, you're dead - that's it. Thank **** I don't have to suffer the torture of Heaven.
