What has happened to him? At the start of the season, it looked like he was finally making an impact, now he appears to have regressed hugely.

On current form, he doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the 1st team. I've seen newborn deer with better directional sense.

    What say you?

There was that piece of play from his performance yesterday that just pissed me off, no end. He carried the ball with his head down and just never looked up, if he did he would have saw his CF in the perfect position to get a shot on goal. It was just amateur hour from Gervinho. The guy is 25 years old, and he cost us £10 Mil plus. Yet, he plays like some youth player that has the raw ability but not the composure.

On saturday, i saw people with their heads in their hands whenever he got the ball, as they were expecting the usual from him. get the ball, run into cul-de-sac, lose ball.

Yea, I shouted something obscene at the screen when he did that. Made me come here too to slate him in the match thread.

Nothing else to say about him really. Just not good enough for Arsenal. Not now, probably never will be.

Worse than Downing unfortunately. More worrying is that Chamberlain seems to be getting worse every time he plays as well

Gervinho is insaine because he can do things that the VERY top players can do.

He can beat defenders with absolute ease. He's quick, a great dribbler of the ball but has absolutely no composure.

For me it seems like Gervinho has all the right physical qualities and talent but lacks the right mentality to be a top player.

Its crazy to see him take the ball past 2-3 defenders then sky or mis-hit the shot /pass. I cant help but think Gervinho looks amazing in training when there's no pressure on.

Never seen him do anything like that

    Midly

    Absolutely not

    Definitely

Disagreed, he doesn't have any of them

I'm trying to remember the last time I saw him go past 2-3 defenders on purpose

For the goal on Tuesday. His run nullified two defenders.

Hmm... scraping the barrel a bit. He didn't 'go round' anyone. He ran down a blind alley and had to turn back the way he came. By the law of averages some of his aimless runs will bring about some chances for us.

He's a poor attacker and doesn't belong at a club that will be challenging for serious trophies. But we're not challenging for anything. And he is here :emoticon-0101-sadsm

He is still a rough diamond and needs refining. Maybe when/if Henry joins us on loan again, he could impart some of his valuable knowledge to him. He needs a mentor....

On a side note, Fergy was talking about the impact RVP was having around the players. His skill and experience was doing wonders for the younger players like Hernandez etc.

I agree he's not been good recently, and that he made some infuriating decisions against Olympiakos, but if he's going to do something right it seems unfair to chastise him for it.

As for trophy winning, he won the double at Lille in his last season and was one of the best players in Ligue 1 that year.

I wasn't chastising him for it... simply not giving much credit for it.

And being one of the best players in the French league before moving to Arsenal doesn't mean much... look at Chamakh...

I'm not really sure of your point. Are you saying that Hazard is amazing and therefore being the best player in France does mean something? Or are you backing up my point by saying that Hazard was the best player in France but is struggling a bit now?

It's not just that he runs into cul-de-sacs, but he also just plains run the ball right to the goal-line and ..... just carries on beyond it.

The other odd thiung he does is when clean through instead of powering forward he has that slow drappging movement which slows down the attcak, gives the defenders chjance to recover and the attack just fizzles out.

Years ago Ron ATkinson gave Ray Wilkins the names "The crab" because he always passed sideways. I wonder what name old Ron would give to Gervinho.

Gerv showed today that there is still hop for him.
If he can improve in today's performance and be more consistent <ok>

While what you are saying is valid, whether you like it or not as a team we are alot more dangerous when gervinho is in the team. He is extremely frustrating to watch but we do get in to dangerous positions when he is in the team (more so than walcott imo). The dissappointing thing is that he very often picks the wrong pass, however yesterday everyone will go on about his missed chance but he did set wilshere up with a good chance and his runs are intelligent.

Thats why i'm always more willing to give him a chance because when he isn't in the team we really don't look like we are going to get in behind the opposition. And when running with the ball he does tend to attract two players to the ball which will free up space for other players. And in most scenarios when he is one-on-ones he will go past his man. He is very frustrating to watch but he has qualities that most other players in the team don't have and i think we did miss him in november.

It's amazing how that decrepit piece of **** has slithered his way back into the media... and shame on the BBC for hiring him.
