Watching him today, he does everything, drible, can go past players (don't think we have another dribbler), BUT has an issue with sticking the ball in the back of the net. He had about 2-3 gilt-edge chances to score today, wonder if it is the formation we play.... Is it a lack of composure? I wonder is he a striker or a winger? Can we really play a striker in that role?

Judging by your analysis, that he can't seem to put the ball in the back of the net, it seems that he's more of a winger whose role is to provide chances for others.

Gervinho is the best left sided attacking player we've had since Pires <ok>

He might not be scoring at the moment, but he creates plenty of chances that lead to goals. His interplay swapping sides with Walcott is brilliant too.

Once he does find his shooting boots, he will be deadly.

I guess we can call him a winger, just wish he would take some of weight off RVP.....

I think it's a case of finding his shooting boots and when he does he won't stop scoring.

he's great until he goes for goal - then cocks it up.
Needs to learn to offload earlier.

Gervinho has to dribble a lot before he shoots, and it goes anywhere.

I believe in his abilities and i know he will start scoring goals soon.

I will want to believe that he knows he needs to score goals to gain confidence in himself, amd he is working on that aspect of his game.

For now, am happy with his form... Good signing from Le Prof

His finishing is awful, kinda like Eboue with his end product (not quite that bad though)

He would be World Class if his finishing improved.

I am a really big fan of gervinho and i think that he is still adjusting to the premier league. And i don't think that he is necessarily a bad finisher but if he misses the first few chances he seems to let it go to his head, the fact that he is getting 2-3 one on ones with the keeper shows that he is doing everything right and the formation does suit him. But i just think that he needs to relax because once he gets going believe me he will be an absolute world beater. He glides with the ball and can go past defenders with ease and creates opportunities for others and once he does start scoring consistently he will get a lot more praise. I also think that he needs to stay in the game more, too often he tends to drift in and out which is hard especially for a winger but i would like to see him take the ball more and take more control of the game.

    exactly.

Im fed up of hearing about his 3 goals.

It seems like ive seen him miss about 103 goals.

If he is still only 3 goals at the end of the season he is another Chamakh.

he always seems to hang on to it for about 3 seconds too long , and the scoring opportunity has been missed.

Thats the really annoying thing , he is excellent at getting it into a goalscoring place , but then fluffs it.
