Scoring is the point, yes getting the balance right is important but scoring is the singular one thing that is essential to the game. Frank Lampard made a creer of wandering around doing **** all except scoring goals and he's considered a very good player.
Well if you want to comment on ONE LINE and disregard the context outlined in the rest of the post, then no, I don't want you to point it out ...
The context of the comment doesn't matter mate, the mere fact that you posted the line "there's an unhealthy obsession with scoring goals" is enough to make it to my sig.
And the 13 assists and 13 goals provided would have just came elsewhere yeah? Cool story. Have you got the name of this boss DM who scores, assists and protects the defence indefinitely?
You mean the penalties? You're right - we wouldn't have won or scored the penalties in Gerrard's absence. And the corners/free kicks also - we would have won corners but no one would have taken them if Gerrard wasn't playing. I'm sorry but the last comment is so ridiculous, therefore this debate is over.
And final word - a DM is not supposed to be score goals and get assists. His job is to protect the defence and allow others to attack to get goals and assists. I can give you loads of adequate DM's who can do this. Whilst I give the defence a hard time, a quality DM will mask the inability of a poor defence - but I'm guessing the 50 goals we conceded don't matter because we scoring goals is all that matters.
