So what do we all make of this?

Where did it all go wrong?

How many of the parasites who lived off the Gazza brand are there to support him now? Fair play to his former drinking buddy (!) Chris Evans and the others who are funding his treatment. Sadly I think Gazza is so deeply programmed to self destruct that nothing can save him.

I hope I'm wrong. He's a genuinely nice guy by all accounts. Wife beating aside.

From what I've heard it started to go wrong from an early age. Wasn't he addicted to fruit machines as a child, and briefly treated for obsessive behaviour?

I think had he not been such a good footballer he might have ended up getting the treatment he needed at an early age. But he was always surrounded by too many sycophants willing to ignore or cover up the signs and now he's paying the price.

Good that the PFA have attempted to help him and yes its good that many people are there supporting him but forgive me for being a little cynical but he's just one man. Many thousands of people go through similar problems and have not had a fraction of the assistance / support he has had and indeed wasted. The man needs to start helping himself.

I think that's probably an accurate assessment. From another perspective, things took a serious turn for the worst when he did his ligaments whilst committing that nasty foul. Really started going downhill after that.

Went wrong when he signed for Spurs instead of for Fergie.

I suspect he would still have been a handful, even for him.

Fergie could maybe have saved him. Wasted his time at spurs.

Get well soon Gazza. I fear suicide will be his only escape. The only world class English player of our generation and he wasted it

its a shame the way he's ended up, Fergie would've looked after him if he joined us, also we had a couple of north east players as well to help him settle.

Last time I had one of these instinctive bad feelings about someone was the bloke who played Tosh Lines in The Bill and he drank himself to death within days.

Hopefully Gazza won't get that chance while he's being 'treated' in America but the die look cast for him I think. He looks beyond help.

Nah, he should be able to escape from Liverpool without resorting to suicide.

i'm watching the video where he was at a charity event, he's shaking and it's asking for uncomfortable viewing.
