Dave Watson sees something in him. He's still only 23 and I think he has the attributes to come good. I think where he struggles/suffers is the mental side of his game, and with his communication. His distribution is superb and he pulls off some good reaction saves. Suspect a loan move is on the cards for Paulo now. He was due to head out on loan a week or so ago, but in the end it didn't happen. I think it's more preferable for him to step in, in future, than Kelvin.
I'm not sure about him, but I find it interesting that the club does (as amazing as it may seem, they may know more than me). I may have to go for a lie down.
Definitely has come along way from when he first joined. Had a very good Pre-Season, and made some good saves and claimed most things that came into the box. Pleased to see this, as others have said as he's only 23 that's still very young for a GK.
Reminds me a bit like Bart, apparently bart was the best keeper in the world until a crowd was watching him.
Think Gazza is better than that and still young for a keeper. In fact, Bart looked alright at first, then lost his nerve once he got passed bravado of the young and began to think about it.
Agree with that 100%. I think when Frazer returns we ought to let Paulo go and get some week in, week out match time. He's got bags of potential and I think he needs to put it to some use. Perhaps to go back to the Gills for half a season, or anywhere semi-local where he'd get loads of match time.
I think, initially, he couldn't judge balls hit through the middle, and either came out too late or didn't come out at all. Not seen him have to deal with that type of situation, in his last appearances, so would hope it has been worked on. What I have seen of him, in the 21s and the odd first team game, shows increased confidence/ability when dealing with crosses.
Pelle's doesn't move even a little due to the amount of product he uses. Gazza sorts his hair out about 5 times a minute.
I remember a long time ago when Saints let in a goal and a commentator remarked that he couldn't believe that Fonte was adjusting his hairband at the time.
I know. Heads the ball powerfully and, even in slow motion, it all settles back perfectly. Course, I think having a decent haircut, and obviously healthy hair, might have something to do with it.
Was good to see Gazza make a couple of good saves at the end of last year, He was shocking before that, lower champ or league 1 standard at best. Seems to be a bit of a confidence player.
