Peter Taylor has given Borrowdale a potential lifeline by telling him to get fit. He's back training with the Gills and if he can prove his fitness then PT may give him another crack at the whip. http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kent/sport/taylor-waiting-on-19888/
Seems alright. He's not going to be on a massive wage and if he sorts out his fitness, which let's be fair it's pre-season, he will be a better player for us. The only thing that worries me is the "someone has given him some bad advice over the summer", does that mean he's come back even less fit than when he first arrived? Time will tell.
Waste of time, think Taylor wants to give him a contract but he hasn't deserved one. Clearly didn't get himself fit enough during the 5 months he had here last year why would he get fit now. I'm not nor will ever be a pro footballer but Borrowdale seems to be wasting his talent and opportunity. If that advice thing is true why are we even giving him another shot, surely if he wanted to get back into pro football he would have been in the gym all summer getting fit desperate to prove Taylor right but no he hasn't and clearly enjoyed himself too much. Don't want him, know I am far too harsh on him but do we really want a player who has squandered his chances and doesn't seem to want to work hard? Especially with a very young impressionable dressing room.
I'm with Lukey on this one. I think if I spent 5 months training with a professional football my fitness would have improved to a good enough level. Guy seems a slacker in my opinion he's had his chances and not taken them. Time for him to move on.
