So saddened to hear of Gary Ablett's death- forty six years young. Reading the obituary I was particularly affected to learn that he had precisely the same cancer that hit me, being diagnosed not long after I was. Yet here I am, in remission and enjoying life as much as I can, while he is taken. It makes me even more determined to cherish what I have while I have it. We all should.

Thoughts go out to his family and friends.

    Ditto GG <ok>
Not sure why this news is not as 'high profile' as that of Gary Speed - both particularly sad.

I guess the media don't view this sad passing as a "shock"

TBF There were comments from former players in the papers but I agree this hasn't been given the same attention as the tragic death of Speed albeit by his own means.

BB, you've got it right with high profile. Under GS Wales became the highest climbers ever in the FIFA rankings, but GA was Stockport manager in 09-10 and was out of football after that due to his illness.
