Just took a quick look over all of Garth Crook's teams of the week so far this season. Whilst he isnt exactly an authority on, well, anything really, its still interesting to see how Norwichs players have performed and stood out to an outsider. Firstly a table based on how many times a club has had a player in the Team of the Week. (this was counted in a couple of minutes so please don't be too angry if im off by 1 or 2) Not a bad placing for Norwich though no? chelsea 19 man u 17 liverpool 16 norwich 14 everton 13 arsenal 13 fulham 9 man city 8 tottenham 8 swansea 7 aston villa 7 southhampton 6 wigan 5 west brom 4 west ham 4 newcastle 4 qpr 3 sunderland 3 stoke 2 reading 1 Secondly, the players that were picked. bassong x 4 ruddy x 2 garrido x 2 whittaker x 2 snodgrass x 2 turner x 1 Martin x 1 A lot of new boys and a lot of defenders. Compare that with last year when Holt and Pilks were the regular norwich entrants for garth, i think it shows what great work Hughton has done making our greatest weakness last year, our greatest strength this time round.
Nice work battersea. Shows that there isn't quite an obsession with Swansea over Norwich. Interesting how Liverpool have had so many players picked.
There is another thread related to this currently running. Supers will not be overly happy to see this table!!
However much we love our club and like to hear good things, we shouldn't forget that this table is based only on someone's opinion. Nice to know but I will guarantee we would pick at least 3 different MOTM tonight becasue of opinions.
of course, but its nice to see that we get noticed for our recent efforts beyond the faithful followers.
I imagine after only 16 matches played, Luis Suarez has been picked in Garth's team of the week for the past 16 weeks
