i think we should drop our interest (read we have gave him an ultimatum of 1 week to make his mind up).articles are saying Valencia have so much debt they cannot match our offer and as he has set his heart on going there if he comes here it'll be his second choice.Personally I'd rather have someone that sees us as first choice.

Not many people class Newcastle as their 1st choice. Tiote probably would've jumped at the chance to move to Chelsea before he knew Newcastle properly. Same with Ben Arfa.

This being true... you also need to think, if he did sign maybe his heart isnt in it but i think the reported 9mill is true then he will have a good sell on value as he is young. i think 9 mill is a good price for a player who would possibly be able to replace a 35mill player.

if it works out and he likes it here we win... if it doesnt work out pop another 3 - 5 mill on his cost sell him next summer.
