1HAVE YOUR SAY SUNDERLAND goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has been called up to the England Under-20 squad for next week’s games with Mexico and USA. The 21-year-old, who recently returned to Wearside after a loan spell at League One outfit Bradford City, has represented England at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level. He has now made the step up to the Under-20s, who are managed by former Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd.
That's quite an impressive record - under-16s, 17s, 18s, 19s and 20s. To my knowledge, only one player has ever played for England at all levels from Schoolboy to Full international and that was Terry Venables of Chelsea. I don't know if under-16s equates exactly with the old Schoolboy team, but still, this is a hell of a record Pickford's building.
