At race meetings, if a favourite loses in a dodgy kind of way, there is a demand for a stewards' enquiry. We need an FA enquiry and we need it now. West Ham and Southampton have clearly conspired to keep the race for promotion "interesting" for the punter by throwing games. What other explanation can there be? Of course, the explanation could be that we all should forget the predictor and focus on games. As Alf Garnett once said (c1966?) "Everyone knows West Ham is the best team. Why won't the others let them win?" Strange how teams like Ipswich and Watford turn up and refuse to meekly hand over the 3 points. It's very unsporting of them, but I suspect that other teams might do the same to the two of us and - let's hope - Reading et al. Hold on to your seats, guys!
No team is invincible so we must all get used to the fact that we are going to be beaten or draw games. The important thing is not to panic and not to start the blame game and pick on the team or even worse pick on individual players.
The only thing that can stop us winning an automatic spot is Saints themselves. To have it in your own hands is something we could only have hoped for at the beginning of the season. Other teams can only make it easier for us.
"Yeah, Godders. If I want to slag off Guly, Schneiderlin, Lambert, Lallana and all the other crap players we've got I will so get lost" This post is bought to you courtesy of the SMS whiners association.
I'm no really bothered tbh, I was just hoping Warnock got relegated. The spuds choking and ending up 5th would be funny though.
Anyway, when you play Leeds, the secret is to play as badly as you possibly can and you will come away with a satisfactory 1 0 victory. We tried it and it works.
