Good bit of business for them.
Always rated Parker, shame he joined us when our central midfield consisted of Lampard, Makalele et all, otherwise he may have been good for us :)

At a midtable club he's an excellent player, but average at the kind of level of Chelsea.

Excellent signing for Fulham and even worse news for Arsenal as they play them next. A fired up Parker won't give Arsenal time on the ball whereas a Sidwell would.

Never really understood why some people raved about him. Don't really rate him.

I have seen him roll his sleeves up and put in a good shift when needed, but for a footballer in today's premiership, blood guts and thunder is not what is required. Hence he will never be a long term player at a top team. Championship is where he belongs.

    This.
He isnt the most talented player, but for a mid table team he will put in a shift and do well I think.
Reminds me of Dennis Wise in that respect, which is probably why I liked him.
But he wouldnt get anywhere near the midfields of Chelsea, City or even United nowadays.

Good player but the fact his best season was at a team that got relegated probably says a lot about the difference in expectations between the real top clubs and the also rans in the league.

With Spurs looking to push on, they can't afford a good (but by no means top class) enforcer in the middle of the park that adds nothing else. Makalele for instance was pretty rubbish on the ball but one of the best ever at breaking up play.

Msg 3 : K OZ I used to call a certain Chels Capt Butch " The Crab " Wilkins.

Parker is an on field leader, this was another problem for him at Chelsea, he was The Man at Charlton, teams were built around him, that was never going to happen at Chelsea. When Spurs decided to do that, then we saw his quality re-emerge. This is what I believe Fulham will do now.

What a wise old bear is D Fer. Summed up Parker perfectly. Will be a real lift for Fulham. Good luck to him and them.
