Gutted for him... Matty Fryatt has today announced his retirement from professional football, after nearly 3 years of operations and frustration http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...ry-ends-playing-career/?WT.mc_id=tmg_share_tw
You’ve got to feel for him. He certainly knew where the back of the net was. I hope whatever comes next for him is both positive & a success.
Was one of my favourite city players, hopefully he finds something else to do now hes finally retired. At the time I thought it was wrong to get rid of him but guess it was the right decision. thanks for the fa cup run Super Matty Fryatt!
Loved Matty. Was one of my fave City players. I fully believe we could've won the league in 12/13 with Bruce if Matty had been fit. Would've got at least 20 goals in that team.
I loved the goal at Forest and his brace against Southend - both matches looked to have goalless draw written all over them, right up until Fryatt worked some magic. Good luck to him, I hope he enjoys a prosperous and pain-free retirement.
We got a real good bargain when he came here and he didn't disappoint with some memorable goals. I'm sure everyone associated with this club wish him all the best.
Yep. Really respected himfor turning down a contract with us as he wanted to play and went to forest. Mind there's plenty on here who would think that wrong and gotta go for the money...
I would of gone for the money..... However, how old was he? Maybe 29ish? Probably had enough money by that age very different to a youngster who needs the money. I absolutely loved him, was a good finisher and how we miss someone like him right now.
Shame how injury affected him after he left City. Always looked a threat in the box and comfortable on the ball. His goal within minutes on his debut at Pompey and the already mentioned goal away at Forest will stay in my mind.
Oh for a Matty Fryatt now. For those who spent their time slating him... You wish you had a striker like that now don't you?
I remember Matt coming through at Walsall as a 17 year old banging them in, and me telling everyone we should sign him! Super Matt!
