  1. I think Lovenkrands tries extremely hard and has excellent pace. At full belt he's our fastest player, but have you noticed that rarely any of his runs get picked out?

I was watching the replay of our game vs Arsenal on FF, and Gutierrez almost played the perfect through ball to Lovenkrands, and if it had just had a yard more pace on the delivery, Lovenkrands was away and probably scoring.

He goes on some excellent runs, but it seems that the team cannot pick him out, or Lovenkrands is asking too much?

I would never play him upfront by himself in a 4-5-1, but perhaps this line up?

    -----------------Best-----------------

    --------------Lovenkrands------------

    -Jonas----Tiote--------Nolan--Barton

I didn't realise until yesterday, that Lovenkrands was apparently playing right wing vs Arsenal? He did an ok job, but i wouldn't put him there again. Anyway, what does everyone think about this?

Loverman has excellent pace, and in terms of sprint speed is our fastest player. I think he could do well if he's given more time, instead of buying ****ing cookie.. i mean Kuqi. Play this line up vs Blackburn, and then put on Ranger for the last 30 mins.

I'm not a big fan of Lovenkrands, but if he's going to go at the end of the season, let him finish in a bit of glory, and earn some respect.

We didnt buy Kuqi, he was a free agent. He's apparently on a pay as you play deal.

Have you actually read ANY of Pardews recent quotes or what people have said on here???

Kuqi has been brought in as an extra body on the bench not a replacement for anyone, Best and Ranger we're apprently carrying knocks this week which would have left us with Lovenkrands and youth players to put up front. So in the words of Pardew "We were a bit thin up front"

Kuqi is a stop gap player and nothing else, he is not pushing people out of the team and sure Lovenkrands will get more playing time (which I think he deserves).

If best and Ranger aren't 100% he can chuck Kuqi on along side Lovenkrands, after all he plays well along a big physical player to feed off of such as Kuqi.

  4. For ****s sake man, can we talk about the main point of this article? You picked the smallest little piece of the article, and went on a rant about it.

Sure Lovenkrands tries hard and has pace but if the rest of the squad struggle to pick up his runs then one of two things has to happen:

    1) The rest of the squad focus on picking him up and ignoring the current style that creates and gets goals.
    2) We play him using the same style that gets goals and he's a redundant figure on the pitch.

At present we have to play him due to injuries up front but when players come back I'd hope to see him back on the bench.

Simply running fast and trying hard should not be enough to get into a first XI football team in the top tier of the English game and he's struggled when he's played this season as if this league is a fraction above his ability.

Nice guy, scored some vital goals last season but at the end of the day he's not cutting it on the pitch so ignore the last big hurrah and play to get points.

Recipe for an RIP Barton's Tash post

Firstly a witty title is preferable
Second, get your opinion in there straight away
Next back up your opinion with half baked ideas that haven't been thought through
Step 4 added a formation, GK optional
Mix in some more have baked and inaccurate points
Finally ask everyone for their opinions and be childish and abusive if they don't agree with you

    RIP Barton's Tash article . . . . Done

Yeah sure Lovenkrands does deserve his chance and he has an excellent work ethic, but up front on his own he is practically a passeger. He'll no doubt more chance playing in the next few weeks.

When you tag bit on the bottom about buying Kuqi as if he is to replace Carroll and push Lovenkrands further down te pecking order!!!

Ever thought that if Best and Ranger are out Kuqi make actually work as a good supporting striker to Lovenkrands??

Lovenkrands had a great pairing with Carroll last season and worked well off of each other, can't understand why he has never had a chance this season though.

  11. I wasn't childish or abusive, so man up mate. I was simply frustrated because, as always, some people have to ignore most of the article, and then pick a point that isn't even that vital anyway, and then go on a rant about it.

Perhaps some people don't want to discuss the entire article but pick a salient point you have mentioned and define their opinion against it.

Last I look it was called a 'discussion' or a 'debate' but you can **** (;)) off if you don't like it because it's not what you wanted.

I respect Lovenkrands, he did a good job for us in the Championship and puts in effort whenever he's on, unlike some players we have seen pull on the black and white stripes.

I mentioned it but I didn't want to discuss that bit!!!! <laugh>

You havn't applied any kind of logic to the Kuqi signing, I'm not thrilled we have had to resort to bringing in a player on free. But I can see the purpose and logic on why we've had to do it. And you never know he might JUST be the ideal support striker for Lovenkrands

Instead all you've done is slated the guy before he even trained with the ****in squad let alone kick a ball.

Lover is a decent player but seems to be in limbo between good CCC player and average EPL player

He isn't strong enough to play by himself and when he played with AC they both made the same runs which was utterly pointless, Kuqi may just be the perfect partner for him.

He was ineffective on the right last Saturday

  18. The comment i made about the signing of Shefki Kuqi wasn't even relative to the point of the article, it was a short digression. If people are going to cherry pick points from my articles, then i'd hope they'd be on subjects that are relative to the point, and the responses would contribute to the discussion. Going on a rant about Shefki Kuqi and his contract negotiations, wasn't what i wanted this to be about, and i thought i'd made that clear by the fact that 99% of the article was about Lovenkrands, and how he should perhaps get a proper chance.

So we can't comment about a comment that you have passed comment on unless the comment forms a large swathe of the comment you originally wanted us to comment on.
