Slow day not many people on so thought I'd start a thread.

Quite a few interesting articles on the club site today.

Brendan Rodgers gave some fascinating insights into his vision for the club, the transfer window and Lucas Leiva during a new monthly briefing with fan sites.

On Lucas being a scout during his injury...

He has been one of the players that has come in and he was really excited about this way of working. He understands totally the ideas of what I'm trying to implement. So, for him, this was going to showcase his qualities even more. I'm going to use him to also go out and look at some games for me, because he's tactically very good. He's someone that I will get to go with my analysts and look at some games to make sure that tactically he still stays in the game. Because that's important. When I put the idea to him, he thought it was good. Hopefully when we get him back, he will have benefited from it and come back a better player.

Martin Kelly today became the latest Barclays Premier League star to take The Guardian's 'Small Talk' interview. Here is what he had to say in full.

Hello Martin, how are you? I'm good thanks, Small Talk.

It's been a mixed start to the season at Liverpool, but there seems to be a lot of positive energy about the place. Is this an exciting time to be there? Yeah, I think it is. With the new style of play that the manager's brought in, everyone's enjoying it at the minute and you can tell that by the way that we played against Manchester City, I think.

What is life like under Brendan Rodgers? He seems a great manager, but he's also a person who comes and gets involved with all the lads as well, so he's really easy to approach. That's good for players, especially young ones like myself and a few others, who are still learning the game. For a manager to come in and try and help you as much as possible is fantastic for us, as well as learning off the senior pros.

Brendan Rodgers is using the international break to cast an eye on the next generation of Liverpool players - and he hopes inviting them to train alongside Jamie Carragher for a few days will help them take strides towards the first team.

The boss has arranged for youngsters from the Academy to join his four senior stars at Melwood throughout this week and the start of next.

And he told Liverpoolfc.com: "There are only four players left here, but there is always a positive angle from it and it gives me a really good chance to look at our young players.

"I've tried to get around the youth team players, the reserve team players, and look at the level we have.

"First and foremost it's a chance for me to see the players working and see their improvements, and try to help and guide them.

"They are trying to make steps up towards the first team and this gives them an opportunity to learn, and not just from the coaches.

"They come up here and train with Jamie Carragher, a guy who is in his 18th year as a professional. The biggest thing they will get from the session is the attitude of Jamie Carragher - absolutely incredible.

"Young players at 18 or 19, to see a guy who has been doing this work nearly as long as they've been alive, and showing the same enthusiasm and commitment to want to learn and improve, is great for them."

Didn't Kenny have the youngsters traing with the 1st team for the day for experience as well? it's things like this which could make their transition so much easier as when they step up they will know the older players and it wont be like they're new signings

It seems a good idea to me and Brendan may spot something in 1 or 2 of them that moves them up the pecking order.

Or alternatively they could spot some thing and say 'If you just work more on this, you'll be a much better player'. Creating a much better player in the long run.

According to Sky text, Brendan Rodgers has challenged Suso to make the step up to the first team. He's willing to give him a chance, however he must be prepared to take that chance.

No surprise Lucas has that tactical awareness. Rafa said he coached players to learn for life, not just for his time at the club, and tactically Rafa outsmarted Brenda's old boss and CV entry, Josephine M.

Try not to be too hard on R Brenda MFG. Let's not forget how much cash Rafa had to spend in his early years to build up his squad and BR has had neither time or much cash. You so often urge people to have patience with players (and rightly so) so in the interests of unity we all need to afford BR the same courtesy.
