No it doesn't - hopefully in may we can celebrate the trophy part. Today is just a nice day for the rivalry.
And the players too. Most glorious moment in many of their careers: http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/05/20/article-2327380-19E07B03000005DC-175_634x454.jpg A very severe downgrading of ambitions going on up the road. Lovely to see.
no , its just like boxing day , it comes around , and we mark it , with good friends , close family , some fine wine , those little chocolaty minty things. Its traditional. You wouldnt want us to break tradition .
Those are very similar to those celebrations your players made when they got in the CL that time . You remember . You must do. course , Bale and Modders , the novelty has probably worn off a bit now . Probably a bit blase about it..
That photo's in colour? Impressive. And which part of "downgrading of ambitions" is disproven by showing a old photo of back in the day when you won a title in response to the contemporary celebrations caused by finishing 4th above Spurs?! Yeah - Spurs celebrated finishing 4th cos we'd had to put up with Arsenal and others getting an extra 30m a year just for turning up and getting draws against teams from Norway or whatever then knocked out when met with a proper team. For Spurs to finish fourth we had to overtake some teams whose budgets are much greater than ours. And let's be honest - the CL is all about money pure and simple. Finishing 4th brings in a bunch of money. It's not winning anything but it's making future victories more likely. And we had an absolute blast in our one and only season in it. Totally blowing away the idea that Europe's "Elite Competition" is anything but an ego-**** for a handful of top teams in Europe (which absolutely does not include Arsenal) and a mechanism for keeping the status quo. It's like the Europa League but with more self-aggrandising music and an absolute ****-load more money for any team in it even if they lose every match in their battles with other "champions".
We're all celebrating the fact that this means you'll have Whinger for at least another 5 years. The specialist in failure, to quote a proper winning manager. You lot tearing one another apart towards the end of every season is a traditional comedy gold highlight on this board. Thanks for that.
Yep and your mini is trundling along sedately. Poor season for both teams, both just treading water, not progressing.
From a Tottenham fan : How the hell does 120m more in annual revenues, only manifest itself as being a mere 7 pts ahead of Spurs in the PL with two games of the season to go ??
We celebrate achievements, like finishing in the top 4 for the first time, or beating the CL holders in our first CL season. What do you guys celebrate? Finishing above us again? Finishing 4th again? CL qualification is only important to Arsenal in order to keep you ahead of us. There's no pride in your performances in the CL, in our one go at it we got further than you have in years and it's not like the extra money is sending you up the league, all it's done is consolodate being the 4th best team in the country, allowing themselves to spend £100mill more than us this season to make sure of it. Breaking your trophy drought is the only thing worth celebrating for Arsenal and you haven't even done that yet but instead you're going mad over finishing above us. Arsenal fans have a special kind of bitterness, they're bitter even when they're outperforming us
Why do Goons still buy this load of old crap? Your wage bill is nearly 50% more than ours and your net spend was over £40m more, too. The idea that you've somehow pulled of a miracle by sneaking 4th again is getting pretty tired. You should be miles ahead of us and challenging for the title every season, going by your financial results. Instead of that, you're lining your board and manager's pockets and trying to lord something like this over us. Tim Sherwood's picked up more points than Wenger since he took over. The guy isn't even qualified to do the job.
