Morning Everyone, Its that time of the week again, lets let our hair down, and relax with Bucks in the ol beer garden. At least the inevitable has now happened, and Snodds hass gone. It gives Warnock time to find a suitable replacement. The monies recieved from the transaction are of course undisclosured but believed to be 3m. Colin says he is looking at bringing in another three players. One of them is Lee Peltier. If he is not good enough for lesta, why are we raving on about him so much? We have signed Chuck (Norris), another Portsmouth signing. SIX is enough (if you count Brown and AOB) Talking of AOB, he and Paynter could be on there way out of ER shortly. Interest has been recieved on both players. Today, as it is, is our squad better, worse ore the same stardard as this time last season?
Morning Elland. Only time will tell if our squad is better now than it was this time last year. Losing Snoddy is painful. We've got what looks like a very solid midfield. But where's the creativity? Will it come from White down the left? Will Rodgers make an impact down the left or right? AOB I'm happy to see go. On Paynter, I'm in a minority of 1 thinking that some day he'll come back to haunt us. All in all, until o what finally happens, I'm sitting firmly on the fence when it comes to judging the seaon ahead.
Morning I'm not to optimistic about Warnock to me honest. But I guess he has a plan with what he is doing, so I have to wait and see The believe 3m£ for Snoddy will NOT be reinvested in players. If Warnock is lucky, he may get 1m£ of it. I'd expect the pompey fans to follow shortly I don't think the squad is any better. We may have better defense, but I think the midfield and attack is poorer. So not happy with it and if this is it we will struggle.
Morning Boggers, I'll be delighted to see AOB go, Paynter at least he puts in the effort... And to answer your question, yes, big grudge against norwich, have a look at my reply
Thank fook its Friday and good morning all. I'm not happy about Snodds and although I wish him the best, it seems that even though the new owners tried to intervene and speak to Snodds, he still wanted out. Colin is frustrated, but I'm expecting him to bring in 1 or 2 marquee signings yet, especially if we got £3m for Snodds (£1.5m now the rest later) The deal for Bates to be gone looks imminent and obviously Warnock is using cash from them, because no way would Bates splash the cash. The squad this season will be stronger and tougher to score against. Warnock is adding some steel and unless he gets a couple of top players we may see some hoof-ball. No way will we concede the same ammount of goals as we have the last 2 seasons, so I'm pleased about that. Looking forward to seeing Austin in this midfield and with any luck a top striker. As it stands now we should be a top 10 side, but a couple of top signings will see us able to compete at the top.
Morning Norway, I think during the Summer, the sh*t was always going to hit the fan, as both players and fans alike have been treated so badly last season, but I do believe Colin has minimized the damage as much as he can. If we had a less experienced Manager, I berlieve it could have been a lot worse.
I am very much looking forward to the clean sheets, lets go for 15, any advance on that. I am worried about lack of flare and creativity, but I believe we have a lot more strenth in depth now...
Morning all, Have to agree that while we are lacking some creative flair at the minute, we seem to have a much more solid defensive unit than this time last year and that can only be a good thing! Still holding out some optimism that we will get a couple big signings in and add that creativity in, otherwise we'll struggle a bit going forward I think
Can't find what you posted on Nunez Elland. But I'll be interested to see if Warnock can get a bit more out of him than Grayson. He's got robinsonesque (the ex England rugby man, not our dainty-footed ex midfielder)twinkletoes. So who knows if he can show for us what he shows for Honduras.
Morning all, just repped the lot of you including Tommy! Sick of the Norwich Leeds insult trading. Prem team picks off championship teams best players shocker! Who cares? It happens every year, in fact we are doing the same to Pompey. All the best Snod dont let the door hit you in the arse on the way out, good luck you could have left ages ago but didnt. We are rotton to the core at the moment, its a shame the takeover didnt happen quicker but I still think Snod would have left. Anyway, Warnocks said he is after a top striker like Maynard/Beckford and Peltier is one of three right backs he is currently looking at. Austin signs a three year deal as well
Morning Bucks, tried to rep you back, but need to do some spreadin first. Its 10.00am, have you finished your days work yet, which Pub are you at? Understand what you are saying about norwich, however, if they come to our board with the intention of wumming us, shouldn't we stand our ground?
We can't even replace Snoddy for £1.5m, let alone get any other players, Varney's already been named as his replacement and we aren't showing any intent to bring in a winger. Warnock seems intent on instead filling the squad with average, over-payed strikers we don't need. Not a happy bunny.
Give em hell Just seems the same old insults flying between us since they took BJ, and it bores me! I will be up the Merlin later, enjoying my pint
Warnock has stated that he wants 2 'marquee signings' soon. For me that shows ambition, and he's stated that he wants plenty of goals. He's also said that Varney will replace Snod's goals from midfield, and Austin will be awesome. He's already given us a more solid platform from the back and he's convinced young White to sign a new contract. I'm looking forward and hoping for some good performances from an organised team who will make ER rock again this season, especially if he gets us the marquee signings ....... Could Beckford be the man again with that old coont Bates going
