Would be shocked if gets picked for the ACON and if he does, I doubt he will get into their first team. Frimpong needs games, so spending a month or so not getting any will harm his development if he somehow manages to get into the Ghana squad.
How would going to his first international tournament and training and playing with top players harm his development??? And do you really think wenger would work with a young player and promote him and work with him right then way through to the first team just because he is english? Seriously think about it, obviously wenger think's he has the quality and ability to make it, he's had two very bad injuries which have haulted his progress but we should all trust in wenger's judgement of young players. Really annoys me when people think that out of all the clubs arsenal are under pressure to produce english players, a few years ago we had only one englishman in the squad.
Bad with the ball, bad positioning, reckless, not a good passer, and doesn't have the 'calm' a midfielder needs. He's physical, but that 'quality' has only featured on the reckless slot so far. A better question would be, why 'yes'? What exactly has he shown that he could make it at arsenal? All everyone talks about him is his passion for Arsenal, or his twitter bullshit. He's had more games to show himself than the likes of Gnabry and Eisfeld, yet hasn't even shown 10% of the potential of those two. I've always said that him and Lansbury are inexplicably overrated, and I hope we are much quicker to sell him to a club of his level than we were with Lansbury. Come to think of it, it would be unfair to him foremost if we hopelessly keep on to him like we did with Lansbury.
Because he needs to play games not train with top players, that's why he is on loan. I find it hard to believe that he we will be anything more than a squad player at best for Ghana at the moment.
Why yes ? I think the games that he has played for us he's already shown that he can hold a place in our MF. He's not the finished article and two serious injuries have hampered his progress, but I think he offers us something that we don't currently have. And far from being simply some 'Meathead' who's there to kick people, I think he's going to be a decent player. I don't agree with you about his ball skills and passing, in fact if you watch his performances so far you'll see that he's actually pretty good with the ball, he's quick and he is good going forward with the ball and stretching defenders. People look at his red card against Liverpool and say he's reckless, but that was one of his first games. He's got a lot to learn still and that's why he's on loan. He does need to make sure he doesn't get a reputation or get targeted, but I wouldn't want to see his combative streak taken out of him, because that's his strength and something that Arsenal need.
I'm basing it on at least 7 games I've seen him in, he was panic mode throughout, in the games we were winning and the games we were losing, and I think it rubbed on to everyone else. He makes Coquelin look in control. I have seen this "something we currently don't have" thing said here about a lot of really average players before. I know we don't have a "proper" DM, but that will have to come from the outside, if it's something Wenger thinks we lack (2 versatile CMs is fine by me, as long as we rotate). Frimpong and Coquelin are not Arsenal quality, and I think one loan out for Frimpong should be enough to show that.
Frimpong's loan to Wolves was a big success for him until he got injured. So he has the ability to play in the Premier League. I think he's got the raw talent, it needs refining, but from what I've seen of him I think he can make it at Arsenal. I'm not sure that the phrase 'gives us something we currently don't have' has been applied to any others players to be honest. Unless you can name some ? I can't recall that being said before. I truly believe that Frimpong offers us something that we've not had since Vieira or Gilberto.
