York 2.25 ROSHDU QUEEN 9/4. Very good price for this horse, unbeaten as a 2yo and respectable run against elders this year. Will be too good for this field and I can see this one being backed off the boards.

3.15 Newmarket Moviesta 8/1 looks a superb price in my eyes. I was uber impressed with his neck defeat at York last time given how hard he pulled and although he's up 5lb he's very much a sprinter going places. Ninjago 12/1 worth a small saver

Charlie Hills has a nice bunch of juveniles this season and QUEEN CATRINE 2.10 Nkt 7-1 was most impressive at Ayr. I think she can take this step up in class in her stride and collect.

How can "(fast by 0.59s)" be a course record. Seems odd to me. I thought those times were compared to standard. Does that mean the standard time is only about half a second slower that the previous course record?

    Evening all.

Will be backing the Hannon/Hughes combo tomorrow. Think they will have a couple of winners at least and the only race which they are not in I fancy Lions Park. Away from Newmarket I reckon GRECIAN will go in again in the 2.35 Ascot. Good luck all.

The RP flat standard time is an average of the 10 best times over the last 5 seasons for a mature horse rated (BHA) at 100, carrying 9 stones on Good ground (going allowance 0).

Thanks ROTO. Didn't know that. I would find some education on that, with examples to help interpret times by horses with various ratings/weights, very interesting. Don't know what anyone else thinks.

Just the one bet for me tomorrow - Hayek 6 20 Chester, been following it for ages with no reward, on such a low mark now and it's sure to go in soon enough so at 10/1 it will once again have my money. Hope it don't do what Little Jimmy Odsox done to me the other day ( Followed it for about a year backing it at big odds, goes off at shorter than usual - 11/2 and then comes a close 2nd, which means it now will win next time out but it will likely be very short at about 2/1 so just no value in it for me ).

I agree Chelsea Hayek is one I've been backing and losing on but surely it's got to win soon

Double discount in the last at Chester and I've doubled up with sky lantern. Just hope its not too much of a tactical affair. I still think the horse is class and that class will show through today

Rizeena at 6/4 seems a bit big, if you Aiden trained her and Clive Brittain trained bye bye birdie I wonder what odds she would be

Also like Sky Lantern but doubts over her taking on her elders for the first time so wouldn't play @5/6

Why is the Cherry Hinton no longer called the Cherry Hinton, but the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes? Nothing against the old girl but why change the name of one of the most recognised Group races for fillies?

Had a cracking meal here in Salzburg last night in a little restaurant with it's own micro-brewery. Home made hefeweizen (wheat beer) which was absolutely gorgous, schnitzel such as you have never tasted before, a kind of apple donut thing for desert and all topped off with a couple of glasses of raspberry schnapps. Fantastic. Heading on to Croatia shortly.

Sky Lantern looks a knocking bet today.

Keep up, old boy, I raised the same question earlier in the week. And don’t forget last month we had the scandalous instance where the ‘Windsor Forest’ was renamed the ‘Duke of Cambridge’!

It’s blatantly part of Clarence House’s attempt to make us ‘like the pair’ but why the heck should British racing continue to bow and curtsy (and in the process turn itself into a laughing stock) to the most outdated institution known to man?!?

If in doubt always back the filly with the loveliest name. On that critea my selections would be Bye Bye Birdie (2.10) and Elusive Kate (2.40).

    Good luck all.
