The first at Newmarket tonight has a bunch of colts running with eye catching pedigrees. One race to watch and work out who of them is going to be a star in 2026, if not this Autumn. Al Zanati, a Dubawi out of a Scat Daddy mare, is a very short priced favourite at the moment.

In the end it wasn't as instructive as I thought it might be. The surprise was the total outsider August George, who went down by a rapidly diminishing neck to the odds on favourite Al Zanati. His next start will be very interesting and it is to be hoped that Ian Furtado has a career changing colt. However the horse I'm going to suggest as one to take out of the race is Infinite Dream. He's a Night of Thunder colt out of a Sea the Stars mare who comes from one of the best Wildenstein families (that of Arc winner Peintre Celebre). He was doing his best work in the last two furlongs, after running green early on. He should be a 10f+ horse and I'll certainly be watching his next start.
