I think the banker bet tomorrow has to be Abseil; 7/2 in the 15.45 at Epsom

Why Ron? Won that race off a much lower weight last year and hasn't really progressed. It's coming in for plenty of cash already but i'm not sold - will probably hack up now but there must be better 7/2 shots about this week surely.

Wasn't Barney very keen last year? Does he have some tidbits from the country set?

Agree Ron, tempted do go with a Ryan Moore double with Legatissimo in the Oaks

Oaks - Jack Naylor 7/1. Will surely get this longer trip, if anything more likely to be seen at her best over these longer trips. Was finishing like a train in the Irish 1,000 Guineas, that caught my eye and always had her on my mind for this race. She's already got the better of two of tomorrow's rivals in Legatissimo and Together Forever in a race at the Curragh, again that was only over 1m so be intersting to see how that form works out over the longer trip. Everything just points towards Jack Naylor for me though.

I'm hoping it'll be a good weekend for Jack's, I'll also be on Jack Hobbs for the Derby...

Watch his race at Yarmouth last year; he looked class. Won easily in a fast time carrying 9.13. He then won over C&D in a good time before going astray. Beautifully bred but has been gelded and kept in training by SMS. Ran very encouragingly on reappearance after 208 days absence, again in a decent time. Ryan Moore rides again. Should hack up

Really like Ballymore Castle 7/1 in the Surrey Stakes listed event at 5:15 Epsom. Was a good second to Baithe Ailge here last year when struggling to find his balance down the hill but once he did he flew home to finish a beaten 2 lengths. Since then he has been lightly raced bumping into the re-opposing Secret Brief who was a good 2nd to highly thought of Consort at Sandown recently.

Secret Brief beat Ballymore Castle easily over 6 furlongs and by 1 and a half lengths over today's 7 furlong trip at the back end of last year. Secret Brief drops in trip today and we have course experience over him also an optimum trip. Ryan Moore takes the reigns and there's no better man to settle him and get him into rhythm coming down the hill and at 7/1 I'm hopeful he can take this with that track experience having him that bit sharper this year.

In the Oaks I've dawdled a lot and as a result missed any fancy prices I was contemplating on Lady Of Dubai here and a result I have now decided to back the horse I think will stay, the horse with the form and that is current favourite Legatissimo 3/1. It is a really nice looking race with plenty in with a chance but I'm opting for what I think has been the best filly this year.

    Good luck to ya's!

    14.35 Epsom - WHAT ABOUT CARLO- 12/1

Most recently, his form has nothing to be excited over ran ok in the Lincoln but was expected to follow up on his last two runs but never did Howver he Won over c&d on Derby day in a very similar handicap, is only 1lb Higher than last year has the blinkers on for the first time and Hanagan on board he is too big a price to leave

Bob, are you struggling to find something to beat Abseil

I reckon the only others that could give it a race if he isn't on song today are:
    Gratzie 8/1
    Saucy Minx 16/1
    Sound Advice 11/1

Throw in another one and you could back them all and cover yourself in case he has an off day

120 points Abseil at 7/2 (Betfred) returns 540
    20 points Gratzie at 8/1 returns 180
10 points Saucy Minx at 16/1 returns 176
15 points Sound Advice at 11/1 returns 180
    x points a n other

    Total stake 165 + x

Pretty boring but a trixie for me:
Arod - Ran a cracker in the Lockinge and a repeat of that should be enough
Abseil - Encouraging debut run should see him spot on for this, has fallen slowly down the weights and back at Epsom should strike
Legatissimo - Like I said in the oaks thread this filly screamed Oaks when she crossed the line at HQ, should be closer to the Golden Horn price imo so at 7/2 it's a big bet for me in a single also

Morning all, quickly logging in with my Oaks bet:

    AL NAAMAH each way 14/1

I'm always of the opinion that you can't ignore Epsom form within a family, just look at how well the Urban Sea family always do round there as a classic (pardon the pun) example. Her pedigree credentials are almost as good as they get - by a Derby winner out of a half-sister to a Derby winner. Plus Monsieur Fabre is not one for sending horses over for the sheer fun of it.
