Sunderland AFC News And Banter Page Just now · @GraemeBailey Sunderland have made a fresh bid for Andre Ayew, offering Swansea £10million plus Fabio Borini.
That's effectively a £20m transfer as we paid about £10m for Fabio. I'd be disappointed if Borini goes. He's not been great - struggling for form and confidence. Thought he might have cracked it when he scored a couple last month but not quite. Would prefer Ayew on one wing and Borini the other with Defoe between them.
I'd do that deal. Yeah we are probably offering about 3 or 4 million to much, but we are desperate to stay up...
They've clearly stated they won't be selling him. They'd be mad to - I think we're wasting valuable time personally. There must be better (and cheaper) options out there if you look hard enough. Why does our scouting system never seem to find the bargains that other clubs dig up?
If that's true our club is a complete joke top to bottom. He joined Swansea for free in the summer ffs.
Not wishing to be disrespectful but why would he want to join a club that is more likely to be relegated. Borini when we had him for a season on loan to us was good at championship level but is not half the player that Ayew is at PL level. We are looking for a new striker ourselves to strengthen what we've got not weaken us. If you need another striker please make a bid for Gomis. There is no such thing as a free these days he was out of contract and we had to give him a big contract to join us and no doubt any club buying would also have to pick up the remains of this contract.
Fair play. It's all over the place now mind. Sky Sports the lot are reporting it. It's obviously got legs, but whether Swansea go for it is a different matter completely.
That is a very good point, this is a mess and highlights our lack of preparation, again, in a transfer market, no strategy whatsoever.
This seems to have legs like. I heard from someone I know that Swansea's wage bill is crippling them, might be bollocks but isn't their owner only worth about £30 million? That must be vanishing sharpish with there crowds. Ayew is their top earner, and as such, maybe he might be sold. Just speculating here, but as the Swans fan says on here, at the top level Ayew wipes the floor wit Borini. Forget he was free, forget he's been in England a few months, remember he was a mainstay of a very good Marseille side and played CL football, he is a very, very good player and would be a massive asset to us.
