If we finally manage to offload Cesar permanently this window, coupled with the fact Green has only been offered a 12 month extension, would it be worth placing a bid for Forster given that Celtic have stated every one of their players has a price. I've always liked the look of him, very commanding in the air, he's British which fits the HR mould and also has his best years ahead of him. Thoughts?
Didn't Celtic turn down some bid for him in the last few days from Swans I think...... IMO McCarthy from Reading or Smithies from Huddersfield would be a better option and wouldn't cost anywhere near as much ...... Slight deviation, but somewhat surprised that Vorm is leaving Swans to play #2 to Lloris at Spurs......looks like he will only get to play in cup comps next season......
I think the bid was from Southampton. But it was labelled derisory and well short of their evaluation (£5mill+) I was shocked at that also. But money talks I guess.
......plus he would always be useful handling those wildlife situations? please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Jack Butland would be another good choice - couldn't be any worse for him than on loan at Leeds last season, but at lI suppose he was getting games there. Here he would keep Green honest if his form slips or gets injured. It is the least Mark Hughes could do for us after all the Cesar nonsense he created for us. Smithies also a good choice - reminds me of the crisps (chips for you and I) back in my day with the little blue paper wrapped salt bundle to add - good idea - as it offers a choice with/without salt. Houston - Do you serve Pimms in your bar - I could do with one now in the sweltering heat here just before a thunder storm hits. Unfortunately here we cannot get White's (real English) lemonade - 7-up, Sprite is just not the same.
I want to know why after his performances last season, no one has tried to sign David Marshall?? He was by far the best keeper last year, think he was no1 in most stats.
If we are to buy a backup goalie look no further Itumeleng Khune this guy is amazing! He plays for Kaizer Cheifs in south afican league he must been mainstay in their team since he was about 20 and the current Bafana Bafana captain. His shot stopping is second to none, great distribution and even though a little on the short side commanding when coming for crosses. He is 26 now could be backup to Green for season or two to give him time to adjust to English football. The best thing he would be cheap
