Living in a rugby mad country I am quite vocal about supporting the Tigers and in fact any team from Leicester. The only TV channel dedicated to one sport here is the rugby channel so folk here now get to see a lot more European rugby. Until it came on despite being such big rugby fans Kiwis were quite ignorant of teams from other parts of the world. I have a couple of Tigers polos and often get comments when i have them on. City will alays be number 1 however.
I can´t say I´m a rugby fan in the true sense of the word but I do keep an eye on how the Tigers are doing & very happy when they win/become champions. I´ve never seen a game before, apart from on TV that is. I support all Leicester teams tbh whether it´s football, rugby, cricket or basketball.
Have always been more of a footie fan but also love rugby and have been to see the Tigers on many occasions ... have a Tigers maroon training top now many years old but still proudly worn ...
Have supported LCFC for more than 50 years. Watch the other sports for Leicester when they are on telly. Used to take my mum to Grace Road for some of the Sunday 1 day games, but not been there since she passed. Never attended basketball, speedway or been to Welford Road. Football first and foremost for me, but anything Leicester is ok - it is in Gods county after all.
Im not into Rugby, I have never seen a rugby game live in my life and don't really intend to. Still I want the Leicester Tigers to win and do well As a sporting city we don't do too bad. Mark Selby is one of the best snooker players in the world Leicestershire Foxes are a small county team but we have won the 2020 cup more times then anyone Leicester Tigers have won the Premiership more then anyone else And now we back in the Premiership having won the 2nd division joint with Man City more times then anyone else. Got to the FA Cup final without winning it more times then anyone else. Only spent 1 season in our history outside the top 2 division and we won the league then Overall we quite a successful City at sport
I know it´s in the past but... A Leicester lad was once a `world cup golden boot winner' & Tony Allcock MBE kicked **** in the world of bowls.
Martin Johnson WC winning captain, Leicester Ladies Hockey team are basically the England squad and loughborough uni training our Olympian champions. The list goes on......
I stick with the football but its always nice to see the rugby team doing pretty well, the wife prefers rugby too, but shes more of a Saints fan due to location.
I saw my first city match in 1962 ..a goalless draw with Blackpool. Saw my first tigers game away to cov in 1985....dusty hare won it for us I now have a st for the foxes and go with my mates and a st for the tigers and go with the missus who loves it. So my weekends are sorted a part from the boring summer oh and BTW the only decent thing sir peter souls by has done for me is to ban the two clubs from playing on the same b Day....purrrrrrrfec
