Linton Kwesi Johnson (aka LKJ) is a UK-based dub poet from Jamaica. He became the second living poet, and the only black poet, to be published in the Penguin Classics series. Dub poetry may not be familiar to most of you but this guy is immense, if you get it. Every song has a real meaning to it and he will one day go down in history as being the originator of dub poetry - a genre that is really starting to take off throughout the Caribbean. I saw him live in a old abandoned warehouse in 1994 and lets just say i will remember that night till my dying day.
