Looking back earlier and found the General serving up a mess of Country, Have to say that it was never my favourite gendre. When I was at my worst I always turned to the Blues (Sonny Boy Williamson et al - its OK I'm not going to paste any). After listening to the Blues I always felt better if only because there was somebody out there who felt worse than you!
Just for the hell of it
Yeah. We talked about a reunion last year because agents were asking and there was a support slot for the Glitter Band going. I said it had to be bigger and better but it was clear it was just to take the money and run so I didn't bother. Garry Glitter really killed it anyway because once he was arrested we never played his stuff again and they were the big killers at the end of the night. I learned guitar with a lot of blues, especially Clapton and Freddie King. And this: On Southside Johnny't first album Springsteen wrote that he was the only white guy you could stand to hear sing the blues 'till 6am. I'd say the same of Kelly Joe Phelps: And some Mac. This is the track I mashed with Britney and David Essex: And my personal fave:
I can see where GG killed it dead but to be fair musically the band you were in could easily have chosen a different genre or era Mupp. Y'all sounded superb on the vid you posted.
We used to do a normal set first where we could play whatever we wanted. We played the glam like we wanted and didn't try to sound or look like anybody. It was the band we'd all always wanted to be in. We wanted to be The Clash and Aerosmith with some Ice T thrown in. (We did a mash of Sweet Home Alabama and Ice T's This Girl tried to Kill Me long before 8 Mile). There was a lot of ad libbing but it was never cabaret. We could camp it up then get the heads down to rock out. And we were as tight as it gets some nights. Hell, do 3-4 gigs a week for ten years and you can't help it. I might uipload some other stuff I've done.
Anyone heard of The Lonely Island? great stuff.
