The survey was carried out in August 2012 and was answered by over 1,200 football fans. http://thechriswhitingshow.wordpress.com/2012/08/28/2012-football-rivalry-census-results/
Leicester's Rivals Main Rival: Nottingham Forest Secondary Rival: Derby County Tertiary Rival: Coventry City Teams who have us as their; Main Rival: Coventry City. Secondary Rival: Hull City, Nottingham Forest. Tertiary Rival: Derby County, Northampton Town, Peterborough United, Stoke City.
Hull Northampton? Cobblers ... Apart from Nigel going to and from Hull what they hell has happened between the clubs? Nothing to warrant a rivalry We should be supporting each other after both suffering from Peter Taylor
When I was getting into football both us and Derby was in the prem so I have always seen them as our rival. But recently Derby have been a bit crap and us and Forest have been doing well so the rivalry seems to be with Forest
I've always hated Forest more. My Uncle is a Forest supporter so I guess it's just family rivalry. One of my mates when I was at school was a Derby fan though so I do hate them as well
I'm originally from Loughborough so had more than my fair share of forest and sheep fans hence I'd class them as our main rivals but Fook it 'I hate everyone' Apart from p.e teachers who teach German!
Peter Taylor got us back-to-back promotions from Division Three to the Championship, so I wouldn't really say we had to suffer from him.
Only thing I can say on Peter Taylor is that I hope he spends the rest of his life being buttfooked by mike Tyson for 23.5 hours a day - the remaining 30 minutes can be spent being punched in the face repeatedly by any passing Leicester fan
So Hull voted us their second rival? Ahead of the Sheffield clubs, Barnsley, Rotherham, Donny, York, Bradford, Scunny and Grimsby? Does Humberside boarder Leicestershire? Interesting that Derby have Leeds above us too. Never heard a Derby fan talk about Leeds, but there you go.
Always though both NF & DC were our rivals, but if I had only one bullet I´d have to write DC on it. HULL & COV ? They´re just pains in the
Lewis was **** but the fact is, Taylor did a great job at City. I didn't enjoy watching Harper, Vine or Adebola play but I wouldn't say Nige did a **** job at City just because he brought them in.
This is an interesting question - The survey sample size is not that big given the 1,200 is spread among the 92 league clubs If you were to survey only Leicester Not 606 contributors, you'd surely see Hull figure quite highly - If you only survey Leicester fans who don't use this site non of them would choose Hull Given Hull is smaller than Leicester with smaller support (I'm genuinely not turning this into a pissing contest) and their Not 606 support is significantly stronger than ours, I think explains how we figure in their survey We play a game in the pub before a match where you can choose to eradicate one team and only one team - It's not a cruel thing, they just disappear as if they never existed - Most choose Derby then Forest - I chose Chaventry, looks like I got my wish. Still nice to be considered a rival
Got to be honest - How on earth do we figure in Stoke's list - Hmm I suppose that's where the small sample size distorts results - If you surveyed every Stoke fan we wouldn't make the list
In all fairness, the new Leicester/Hull rivalry is considered a rivalry by Hull fans because of the way Pearson left. Many of us look forward to your game hoping we can get one over on him. Really, it shouldn't be Leicester as the rival it should just be Nigel Pearson I would have had ours as: Main Rival: Leeds United Secondary: Scunthorpe United Tertiary: York or either of the Sheffield Clubs.
Just in case anyone is interested in how our L1 Rivals are getting on - Here is the match report from their home tie against Stevenage today http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19454686
Have you ever been to Stoke's ground? 7 It's fair to say they don't like us
