there's an argument that if you pay your (hard earned) money to go to football you should be able to give as much abuse as you like to whomever you like. I can understand that argument, because of the passion in a ground. Online abuse is inexcusable. keyboard warriors hiding behind their laptops anonymously? they should be shot.
Yeh but for once I agree with Patty, online abuse on any site should be come down on like a ton of bricks and I am not just talking about Footy related abuse either.
Just how can you be abusive to a poster who's name you don't know? My name is Mel, I hide behind my user name Melu, why? Because its an option that gives me the ability to deny who I actually am. If someone calls me a fat racist bastard. It is my not606 persona that gets upset, not me in real life. But post my real name and be abusive and I will get annoyed.
