I'd rather get the flu. Have some time off work and play GTA5 <devil>

Of course if I actually had the energy to play GTA5 it probably wouldn't be proper flu...

Most people who have a Flu jab don't get a temperature or aching muscles though. It's standard procedure to list the potential side effects from any medicine, even though most people don't suffer. I wouldn't have thought that it's the first time our players have had a flu jab, so if anybody had reacted badly before, then the medical team would know, so I don't see the Flu Jab being responsible for our performance at OT and moreover, it's more likely that the actual Flu virus would have a more damaging effect on the squad.

You have to remember that part of the idea behind vaccinations is to protect those who have underlying health conditions, the elderly, babies etc. The less people who have flu means that they are less likely to pass it on to those who it could cause serious health issues for. So even if you're fit and healthy, passing on your virus could be catastrophic for somebody else.

There are some pretty unsavoury ingredients in vaccines, but you have to consider whether the risk of catching the disease outweighs that. Lots of people in South Wales didn't vaccinate their children against MMR when the media were saying that there was a link with Autism, which has now been disproved. But as a result there has been an epidemic of measles and mumps in teenagers, which can cause infertility etc.

Aluminum, Triton X-100 -- a detergent, Phenol (carbolic acid), Ethylene glycol (antifreeze), Betapropiolactone - a disinfectant Nonoxynol - used to kill or stop growth of STDs, Octoxinol,- a vaginal spermicide, Sodium phosphate.

others contain Formaldehyde!!, gentamicin sulfate, hydrocortisone, octoxynol-10, á-tocopheryl hydrogen succinate, polysorbate 80, sodium deoxycholate, ovalbumin

There is no way on earth I would let anyone inject this crap into my kids, none of my kids have ever had flu jabs. I have a 17 year old a 3 year old and a 6 month old. They have all gotten colds ect even the youngest but they have all been fine. In fact, who here knows anyone who has died from flu?

You have to remember the majority of research into vaccines is funded by guess who? That's right, the corporations making those vaccines. MMR I have got my kids alright but we have opted out of several other jabs. No issues with any of my kids with what these vaccines are supposed to protect against.

The Swine flu and avian flu jabs were the biggest successful campaign ever to make pharma corps billions. And there is still absolutely no proof at all that flu jabs prevent the flu. Some of the ingredients of vaccines like flu jabs actually prevent visible symptoms but not infection, which is a bit like the sun cream lark, it is known that people suffer sunburn but the creams contain anti inflammatory ingredients to prevent your skin turning red but the damage is still being done.

For me until such a time that all the seriously and adequately funded research is independent then you just can't blindly trust the myriad of vaccines and inject people with them without at least being aware of what is being injected and what the effects are.

Can you trust the government to regulate this? Well lets take an example, Blair hired a scientist Arpad Pusztai to test GMOs. He came back with seriously negative results that showed that GMOs inhibited the growth of organs in juvenile rats and affected brain development. What did blair do, shut him down, disbanded his research team and even got him sacked from the university he worked in.

So there you have it, GMOs were brought into the UK.

Same thing with Aspartame. I really do advise anyone with kids especially to ensure this is not in the food and drinks you are feeding them.

I'd also worry more about the Fluoridated water you drink in the UK, that stuff is industrial waste, not pharma grade purified substances, actual waste!

From the NHS site http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/vaccinations/Pages/flu-vaccine-side-effects.aspx.

Flu jab side effects

The flu jab doesn't usually cause side effects. However, you may experience mild fever and slight muscle aches for a day or so.
If you have a sore arm after the vaccination, these tips may help to ease the pain:

continue to move your arm regularly – don't let it get stiff and sore
use a heat pack or warm compress on the area
use an ice pack on the area if it becomes hot and sore – do not apply ice directly to your skin, wrap it in a towel first
take a painkiller, such as paracetamol or ibuprofen – do not give aspirin to children under 16

The flu jab cannot cause flu because there are no active viruses in the vaccine. Sometimes, people catch other flu-like viruses or, occasionally, it may be possible to catch flu before the vaccine has taken effect.

Allergic reactions to the flu jab

Serious allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) to flu vaccines are very rare. Health care staff giving vaccinations are fully trained to deal with anaphylaxis and, with prompt treatment, individuals make a quick and complete recovery.
Contact a pharmacist or your GP if you experience severe side effects that are not improving over time.

I think normal tin-foil hat stuff is pretty funny, but when it is about something like this, where you are trying to stop people taking things that will save their lives, it becomes truly evil.

Virtually everything you have written is an out and out lie. The independent testing that most new food and drug products have to go through before they are released to the public is phenomenal. I have worked in that business, and, as I say, almost everything you have written is completely incorrect.

In fact most insiders agree that the controls are too stringent at the cutting edge. It is so bad that if a drug that cured cancer was discovered today, it would be more than 5 years before anyone's life would be saved by it.

I really would advise people not to listen to you and to protect their kids from dying, rather than listen to a **** trying to get a few minutes of fame by inventing crap.

As a scientist who works not only in research, but also the private consultancy sector, this post is a load of tosh and not worth bothering with. There is plenty of adequately funded, very independent research going on, and huge volumes of research is into drugs, vaccines etc. Perhaps you should read some peer reviewed journals - such as "Science," or "Nature" - where cutting-edge, independent, well funded, world renowned, and world respected research is published rather than spouting this drivel.

6OO people died in the UK last year from Flu and the majority of those were under 65. Wordwide Influenza virus claims more than 2O,OOO lives. So the virus is a Killer. I wouldn't advocate people having a jab nor dissuade people from having it, I think you need to weigh up the options and make an informed decision. The trouble is that the internet is an unregulated maelstrom of opinion and you have to search hard for the facts.

I've no doubt that big Pharma have a vested interest in selling their drugs, but you need to be savvy about which ones help and which ones hinder. Statins for example, the jury is out amongst GPs as to their long term effectiveness, but for the drug corps their aim is to have as many people on the drug for as long as possible.

When swim flu first appeared a few years ago I was listening to a scientist on the radio, he said most deaths from flu occur in the 20-45 age group. This was due to fact that people in this age group are usually the fittest.Apparently when they get flu their immune systems go into overdrive to combat the flu virus. This can end up causing the whole body to close down.
