I read something a while back about how his uncle raised him after his father died and that his fathers memory drives him on. Fletcher comes across as a really solid, good lad and imo at least, a very good footballer too. I think we have invested well this week.
Hes a decent enough lad, I played football with his dad and his mother lives in Barnard Castle area and would love nothing better to see him playing his trade and living up North, mind he does have family links who support Newcastle. Type of player who will give his all for the club and be proud to pull on the Red and White stripes, heres hoping he can do the business starting at home to Reading on Saturday
After all the hoopla, it'll be a bit of an anti climax when it's announced. I'm glad we finally have him, he'll be a good fit even if he did come $3m or so too expensive.
Nice information mate, cheers Me & Cest have been sharking the lad for a long time, way before we moved, so I'm obviously delighted with the deal. I'd rather we'd paid a wee bit less, but you pay for goalscorers, and the lad is one of those. Seems like mentally the right sort all round, yeah, he asked for a move, and I never like to see that, but he is a proven Premier League goalscorer, and quite right he may think he doesn't deserve to be in the Championship. Smokescreen mate, he did play in pre-season, and they admitted he was fit for Tuesday, but didn't pick him. He'll start Saturday, I assume.

He played in our first pre season friendly where he scored twice and missed every game after due to twisting his ankle, He had trained fully for one session before Tuesday hence was not picked. A good player who will do well at Sunderland i think. was a lot of cash, but he is better than all the strikers we had least season put together.
