Could I have that grown up bit in writing please to show Mrs Sensible. Depending on the mood I am either a senile old fart or a juvenile who has never grown up.<badger>

Fletcher is much derided by some for his typical football style of speech - a minimum of 25 "y'know"s per 2 minute interview etc.

However he covered off the issue of Walton's clearance off the line as being luck in a post match interview I now can't find. He stressed it is Walton's JOB to drop back onto the line in certain circumstances and that they work hard on these defensive details. No doubt that's contributed to our much better defensive record over the past 3 or 4 months. It's another area where what the manager contributes behind the scenes may be much more than it appears from the terraces or in his media appearances.

I also have to say Fletcher seemed to do just the right thing on Saturday against a depleted & disrupted Bradford: two out & out strikers and two more attacking players out wide - and we got the 3 points.

We probably all had reservations when he was appointed and most probably still do. But he has to be judged by results and whilst I do remain in "We're All Doomed" mode, another win on Friday would perhaps give a sliver of hope. We'll need it as we've got nobody outside the top half of the table after that....

Playing top half clubs brings the best out of this team.........teams in similar positions in the league are a definate problem generally.

There is of course fellow Pilgrims the possibility that we will stay up and Fletcher makes a success of it next season-given he is gaining experience all the time,he has made some reasonable signings relative to our lowly league position, and from what I can see on match days,he has the team playing for him.Just to add a dose or realty if we loose to Hereford -we are in the ****e again, easily the most important game of the season so far for me.
