There was 2 flares used in the Blackthorn end on Saturday. I know its just a bit of fun but its not allowed and quite righly so in my opinion. They can be dangerous and we don't need that sort of trouble when the lads are doing their best out on the pitch. Any moron using flares should be banned. Zero tolerance needed on this one. I was in Cardiff at an international game once when someone fired a flare across the pitch. Apparently it killed someone when it hit them in the chest.
Its the people who use them that are dangerous. Fans from leagues all over the world use them all the time and they haven't been banned.
I am not so sure - not saying they should be used - but it does seem the atmosphere at games appears to be better with things like flares. Maybe it is just the Italians, Greek, Dutch etc leagues that make more noise, regardless of flares?
