Thats it for me now after today. That performance was one of the most pitiful I have ever seen. Southampton properly schooled us. I have mostly supported Pardew but now we are just in desperate need of a shake up. Sure we get lucky some games but it is never by design.

If we got a new manager in now it would give him a chance to have a look at what he has got, plan for the summer and might help towards making the players we do want to stay think ok, this is a new start. Wont happen though and who good would want the job anyway.

I've had many a final straw in my days. Dreadful performance today, one of the worst in recent times. We'll survive. Onwards and upwards. All will be forgotten when we hammer Man. U. Maybe.

aye, what's another final straw in the life of a NUFC fan, its not as if we're fans in the expectation of winning something.
I'm looking forward to stuffing Man U next week - bring it on. <laugh>

Also written off the hope of seeing more of any of the promising up and coming players. Ah well - don't really want them perfecting the art of losing.

Pardew also said that we now can't compete with So'ton financially.... WTF is that about. If thats the case Ashley needs to go.

You do realise who owns Southampton don't you? The Liebherr family. They don't mind spending some of their billions.

We need a new owner or change in attitude from him, a new manager and a major squad overhaul. However we are likely to finish 9th, made a profit so we are unlikely to get any of those things.

I live in hope that this summer will see Ashley finally put his hand in his pocket.

We may spend but only because the club should have built up it's own nest egg. No extra money will come from MA.

TV Money is tied in with final position in the league at the end of the season, bottom club get around £60 million then it rises in increments up to £99 million for the winners of the premier league.

To be fair, If the clubs goal is to break even financially then we've done that. With an extra 40m or so coming in every season surely we can invest and increase the wage cap. We should have such an advantage over the other leagues now.

Rightly or wrongly, I regarded Everton and Southampton as teams that are on a similar level to us.

I thought that competing with them would be our main challenge this season.

After getting thumped 0-3 at home by Everton and then the most gutless performance in living memory at Southampton where we were lucky to escape with just 4-0, you really have to concede that Newcastle United are looking set for a relegation battle next season.

It's yet another low-point where all the players look completely uninterested, don't make enough effort and bring shame on the shirt they wear.

I felt sick watching the highlights on MOTD and can only imagine the fury of the Geordie faithful who made the long trek to the south coast.

    Completely unacceptable <grr>

What are you talking about? The Everton 3-0 was a disciplined performance and the Southampton 4-0 down to tired legs from the midweek game. Pardew said so.

Got back this morning from my weekend on the south coast and having been at the game can only echo what has already been said.

Pardew does have his hands tied but can completely agree why the majority want him gone, especially those that set off at 4am to watch that shower.

Shocking that Ben Arfa got subbed, he worked harder than Gouffran which shows Pardew is just using him as a fall guy.

Also I haven't seen it mentioned on here but only three of those gutless pricks came to salute the fans at the end of the game. Santon, Colo and Elliott. Santon was holding his hands up in apology as he came over to us where at least half of the stand were booing. Elliott quite rightly got a great ovation as he was our best player by far on the day.

Just thought it was disgusting that only three came over to thank the fans after such a poor performance, probably shows that the rest just aren't that bothered at present.
