Just been looking at the games this weekend against the table and would like the following results to happen.

    Man City beat QPR
    Man U beat Sunderland
    Liverpool beat Swansea
    Bolton beat Stoke
    Arsenal beat West Brom
    Norwich beat Villa

These results would see QPR get relegated, and us finish 11th. However, if a Miracle should happen, and we win 4 nil and Arsenal win 6 nil we could finish 10th which would be amazing. Failing this slight miracle, I think an 11th place finish would be amazing and far higher than I ever expected us to be. If we stay where we are, we have still far out done my expectations.

At the start of the year, I went through our fixture list and made a score prediction for every game, some were right, most were wrong, but I had us to finish on 41 points, which would have had us safe but finishing in 15th or 16th place.

Regardless of what happens, I am so proud of the team and everything they have accomplished, in the past few years.

On a side note, can anyone see Drury staying at the club in a non-playing role?

10th has gone i'm afraid. top of the bottom half would be a staggering achievement. i had an inkling we'd finish 13th on 45 points for a while but to be honest, wherever we finish, be it 11th, 12th, 13th or 14th, we've had a great season.

would be lovely to be top of the bottom half though <ok>

At Christmas on here I predicted we'd end up in 12th place with 47 points - a nice win on Sunday and I reckon I'l be bang on <ok>

I'm tempted to watch Stoke v Bolton on Sunday, just so I can say I've done my bit to get QPrcelona relegated <ok>

A fantastic season for NCFC considering where all the 'learned' pundits had us finishing.

I would love it if we won our final game and QPR went down.
The rest I couldn't care less really.

All I can say on this is that he is doing his coaching badges, and after being here such a long time, who knows?

As much as I dislike Man Utd, I would hate to see the Man City mercenaries win the title so I am hoping for a draw for citeh even though it would probably keep QPR up. As for the canaries just a win on the final day would be nice and if we can finish 11th or 12th that would help to boost the club coffers in readiness for next season!

can i just ask why man city players are mercenaries? what evidence is there for this? is it simply because they earn mega-bucks cos as far as i can see, these 'mercenaries' are about to win their second piece of silverware in as many years.

Because Man city were trying to build a team quickly with out the draw of champions league or any real history at the club they had to bring in players who were primarily motivated by money not sentiment. Pretty much the definition of a mercenary.
Players grew up wanting one day to play for Man U or Liverpool or Arsenal but probably not for blackburn Chelsea or Man city.
However this makes them no less deserving of the winners medal. Manchini has assembled an excellent team of very talented players.

i still don't get it. mercenaries are people who are only here for the money. i'm not sure you can label most of the man city team with the term mercenary. carlos tevez probably but wasn't he signed by west ham and manchester united first? the money is as important to them as it is to us but just because they earn silly money does not make them mercenaries. it really bugs me when people use the term to deride what man city have achieved. of course they've paid more money than others - thats the bonus of having a bottomless pit of money! but every club who wins the league 'buys' the title in one way or another, its just city have done it more quickly

To me, mercenaries are those who defect somewhere else at the drop of a hat because the financial rewards are better there.
If these highly (over)paid Citeh players do indeed play and have a genuine passion for the shirt/club every week, give 100% and honour their contracts, they are not mercenaries <ok>

They might not technically be mercenaries, but they are hugely motivated by money. Before Citeh got into the champions league, the players they attracted were driven (probably) by thefinancial rewards. Citeh had to pay over the odds to get the players to come (mercenary owners buying mercenaries).

£180M under hughes; £240M under Mancini. Is it any fecking surprise they've won?

I guess this is always the tricky question, do footballers have a genuine passion for their club? My arse they do? They play as a collective unit, fostered by a team spirit with a strong will to succeed. Doesn't matter what colour shirt is on their back, very few players have strong connections to the area.

MOST footballers do not have a genuine passion for the club they play for! its their job!!! that means 99.9% of footballers are mercenaries and thats bollocks. of course they go where the money is best for them, as indeed we all would, but they aren't JUST there for the money - they put shifts in and are winning things. i don't think you can ask any more of them than that
