1st - Spain 2nd - Germany 3rd - England England ahead of Italy (Euro 12 finalists), Argentina and Brazil. Where would QPR be if the FA did FIFA type rankings.
Take out "rankings" and youve got it spot on! Even the most deluded England fans doesnt believe they are the 3rd best team in the world.
Although I also think fifa are a joke, and have hated the totally corrupt organisation for longer than I can remember. I don't think they can be totally blamed for this quirk in the rankings. It's statistics for you. It's mainly because we're so consistent at winning qualifying games these last 2 tournaments. Brazil and Argentina had a poor copa America which didn't help them. Perhaps they need a wider points margin for getting further in the major comps, because we're nowhere near these other countries in ability....
Probably something to do with the fact that England schedule huge amounts of friendlies against the likes of Macedonia, Norway etc
Spot on...it doesnt take into account how we actually perform...its all about results. If you look at our results on paper, we actually perform pretty well. http://www.thefa.com/England/results You also have to take into account the results of all the other Nations. For instance, a top team may have had a bad set of results over the last year or be inconsistent at the moment, so have dropped down the rankings due to number of losses.
That is a farce. England are no where near the 3rd best team in the world, no where near! I would think England should be lower half of top 10 at best.
