I f**ing knew this would happen. How do I know he's going to miss the derby yet again? Last three games against them he hasn't played. No coincidence in my eyes.

No coincidence we've lost those games I mean, not a coincidence that he hasn't played in those games. I probably should have worded that better

Fair enough, I agree with your point. He is important in defence in frantic games due to his confidence and ability on the ball making him those crucial extra seconds.

I'd leave him out of Arsenal regardless. Him and Saylor will then be fully fit for derby which is what we need. Arsenal will be a challenge regardless, we always seem to struggle there. Just go with Dummett and Willo. We need a back four of Colo, Saylor, Dummett, Janmatt for the derby. I want a team of GK, Janmaat, Dummett, Colo, Saylor, Sissoko, Abeid, Colback, Aarons, Sammy, Perez for the derby. I'd prefer having Obertan fit but not gonna happen. Bench of Streete, Haidara, Gouffran, Cisse, Tiote, Anita, GK

Can we take an emergency loan on the keeper front? It might be a sneaky way of improving our situ. Petr Cech anyone? <laugh>

On checking rules we can get an emergency loan, I wonder if Jose fancies getting Petr some game time? We promise to get better ball boys. Seriously though, anyone think of a good option.

Don't we have a goalkeeper out on loan already? Not sure how tight these loan-back deals are, but if we've paid our money......

No recall I think. I prefer Cech funnily enough. I don't ask for much.

With our tough run of games Cech would be perfect. We play the big boys so Cech helps us win points, Chelsea increase their lead at the top...Jose would be happy, we'd be happy.

    If only eh...

Sun are reporting that we're after Schwarzer on an emergency loan.

Will he be used as backup to or ahead of Jak? I'd like to see Jak stuck with and given his chance.

I'd guess he'd play. I don't agree with emergency loans to be honest, it just makes a mockery of having to name a 25 man squad.

I'm with you, give young Jak his chance. Although if we can get Cech then forget everything I just said <laugh>

If we get Cech we should all pitch in to pay someone to break Elliot's legs so we can keep him longer <laugh>

I have to say I like young Jak but I'm not comfortable at all heading into this period with him between the sticks. I think Saturday was great for him but I'd be playing Schwarzer if he came in.

I don't think we need an emergency loan. Any of the ball boys or the crowd behind the Leazes End goal - they all seemed very good at catching the ball and holding onto it on Saturday. Distribution probably needs working on but it cant be any worse than Krul's.

When you take the sentiment out of it then his performance on Saturday was pretty good in the circumstance, but there were errors that highlighted why it was not a premier league standard performance (despite making Garth Crooks team of the week). Like so many of the young keepers who have gone before him through our system, his shot stopping was excellent but his decision making, particularly when to stay on his line and when to come out, needs work. There is definite potential there though, and when all is said and done the sentiment and the occasion did matter on Saturday and he coped - just. The defence seemed to step up a gear to protect him, but so should they have done.

For me we have a kid with potential and ambition. He has already been knocking on Pardew's door asking for more game time. His contract is up in the summer and I'd hate to see us lose him for nothing rather than letting him develop into a proper first team squad member. We already have Karl Darlow coming next season, but I would hope he is coming in to replace Elliot rather than Alnwick. I think it would be good to see three young keepers all challenging each other for a first team spot and also a spot on the bench.

I'd let Jak play against Arsenal and see how he does. Even if he makes mistakes and gets dropped he will see that he will get his chance here and that if he takes it then he gets in the team. If he does well then we are giving the lad experience that no amount of money can buy, and which will be more in one game than in a month of loan spell down the leagues.
