    Sir Alex Ferguson admits he would understand if out-of-favour striker Dimitar Berbatov chose to leave Manchester United this summer.

    The Bulgarian hitman finished last season as joint top Premier League goalscorer, but was forced to make many of his contributions as a substitute after taking a backseat to Ferguson's preferred strike partnership of Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez.

    The ultimate blow for Berbatov came in May when he did not even make the bench for United's UEFA Champions League final meeting with Barcelona at Wembley.


    Come on Pards. Make an offer for the bloke.
    He wont be happy sitting on the bench and he would be first choice here I reckon.

    i reckon he could play at the top til he's 35, too bad we wont bid for him though

    I know he could play at the top, it's just we wont buy him because of his age.

    we have to be able to make exceptions for quality players such as berbatov ! he would be immense for us! linking up with ben arfa, jonas, ba, cabaye, he would thrive on the service we could provide.

    I'm not mocking him because he's 30! I'm saying we wont buy him because of this, purely because Ashley will want decent resell value.

    Would love to see him here. A 3 or even 4 year deal would be great, he could easily continue his style of play until then. Shame it won't happen :(
