Manchester United striker Federico Macheda is being lined up for a Premier League loan move to new boys Queens Park Rangers, according to reports in the Daily Star. The 20-year-old joined Manchester United from Lazio in 2007 and so far has made 28 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions. Last season Macheda went on loan to Serie A club Sampdoria and made 16 appearances and scored one goal. The Italy Under 21 international has come back to Old Trafford this season but has just made one appearance in the League Cup. QPR manager Neil Warnock has been keeping tabs on Macheda and is planning to make a loan move for the United striker when the January transfer window opens. It is believed the move will benefit all three parties involved as Macheda will gain more first-team Premier League experience.
I'm sure there's a quote from Warnock, saying Fergie won't loan him players since their fall out. Plus it's the Star
he's woeful and not the answer, He was spoke of like the next big thing everytime i have seen him plays he's looked awful.
Surely we need someone who can do the business, as opposed to helping training someone to do the business in the future.
Players need games. The same could probably have been said of Welbeck before he went to Sunderland and he's an international now. With Campbell out we have no pace up front and he'd be a welcome addition.
I agree Watford, good point. I would of thought he'd be good for us. Probably better than what we have at the moment. This begs the question, if not Macheda? Then who?
If he does comes to QPR, then as already mentioned three parties could all possibly win: QPR cause we need a goal scorer, Macheda to prove to Fergie he has what it takes, and Man U as it means they have another striker. Just hope Man U pay his wages..
We could put a loan bid in for Lukaku at Chelsea as I doubt he'll get any game time there but there'll be a number of suitors I'm sure.
Wouldn't say no, but we need a proven top flight scorer like Defoe or Bent. And even with TF backing us up I doubt we will have the cash for anyone of that calibre, so whoever comes in it will be a bit of a risk....
Could be a hidden gem (like Sturridge at Bolton last year). Also could be an outside chance, if Manure's strikers stay fit that they'll see him as surplus and we could get him permanently. Great technique and just needs a run and a bit of belief (or Joey yelling/tweeting at him).
I dream of Drogba - think he would be ideal! Isn't his Chelsea contract ending soon? Chelsea need to start playing therir kids now don't they, and I'm sure Drogba would like to finish his career with bang, like Webbie and Frank McClintock...
It was when Warnock was at Sheff.Utd. On the last day of the season, Fergie said he would put out a full-strength side v West Ham. He didn't. West Ham took advantage, with Tevez scoring a free kick. The Hammers stayed up. Sheff.Utd didn't. Warnock got the hump and told Fergie what he thought of him.
Drogba would be a great asset to have but it would never happen. Reckon TF may push the boat out for a striker. I think we may get someone from abroad, esp after a few comments that he and NW have made recently.
No it probably won't ELLERS. There was talk before about Anelka, don't suppose that will happen either.. But if dreams should come true, I hope TF pushes the boat out for Drogba - you could say he comes from "abroad".
I don't think there's any doubt TF will fork out. He tried to sign Bellamy and Crouch after all. The problem is twofold 1. Finding a prolific striker that a club wants to let go, and 2 Persuading the striker to come to us. A loan holds more hope. The loaning club won't lose a good player and the player won't feel he'll be playing in the Championship next August.
Cheers 999, so it was part of the general paranoia caused by Sheffield United not getting enough points to stay up. These guys don't forgive and forget do they? Still if Fergie is talking to the BBC again, perhaps he will relent with Warnock, but he does seem to prefer loaning and selling to his ex players i.e Bruce
