How he galvanised the group after Charlton and we smashed the league following season. Sorensen helped mind.

The 105 point season and tearing it up in the PL the following year. We were briefly top of the league iirc when we took the lead v West Ham. Magic times.

The game against Man Utd just before xmas. They were off to the club world cup and dropped out of the FA cup to do it (how times have changed eh)

If we beat them we go top. 2-0 and they couldnt get a sniff. Then Keane puts on one of the best individual performances I have seen and finished 2-2. What a game. Walked away feeling like we are one of the big boys now - no fear from the touchline or the stands.

    4-1 Boxing Day at Bradford.

Absolute carnage before during and after, lost 2 of the lads, another lost a front tooth.

Complete and utter mayhem and one of the best away days fans were all drinking though hangovers and it was just a stunning day all round.

Don Hutch absolutely destroyed them. Super Kev hat trick.

    Beautiful.

Went to the Knack club in Seaham to a Peter Reid and Bobby Saxton talk in which was hilarious as both turned up well oiled particularly Bobby , Peter could hardly get a word in but tried his best . Bobby was shouting over the top of him all of the time despite forgetting to use the mic despite being constantly prompted which Peter found hilarious. What an afternoon everyone had with lots of great stories about England , SAFC , and all things football - they were a great double act that afternoon and they got a great ovation from the audience at the end . I am sure if Peter Reid was asked about the occasion he would remember it with that cheeky grin of his .

Different times back then mate. Probably better times too. Many more characters in the dug out. You need to drop down a few leagues to find the current day Sackos

    I've got 2.

The signings of both Steve Bould and Stefan Schwarz. Both seriously classy players and we never really got to see Schwarz in his best position with him shifted out wide rather than in the middle.

My second would be the result against Chelsea in our first season in the prem at home. Got stuffed first game at their place full of internationals, injuries in the middle of the park with Thirwell and Roy staying and gearing the worst.

I saw the best 45 mins of football I've ever seen. We didn't just hold our own against them we absolutely destroyed them in that first half! So much so Desailly didn't fancy coming out in the second half. My best ever game at the SOL

Ah !! Remember it well - best first half of any match I’ve witnessed - Roker Park or SoL or even Wembley.

Pretty sure we only lost 3 times the 105 season, once at home v Barnsley I believe.
