As part of my anger management therapy i have started to take long walks in the countryside to help me appreciate the world around me and try to become a more rounded and less cynical individual.

The great thing about the countryside is that it opens your eyes to the rich diversity of wildlife that the UK has. As ER has already pointed out we have an amazing array of flowers and I have recently noticed an incredible range of animals which make you glad to be alive and realise that shouting abuse at people because you don't agree with them is actually pretty futile as there are better things to be concerned about.

My favourite animal would be the humble dormouse - what are the thoughts of the forum?

    Good thread Dan.

The squirrel for me. Red or grey. Love the way they eat, it's so cute.

Britain should be proud of it's animal heritage.

**** 'em better dead than red.

I don't mind bees but that aside I'm in favour of hunting all wild animals for sport. :)

You don't get them in the central belt. The lowlands and the highlands, aye, but no around here.

You get them in Ayrshire. One used to destroy our bird feeders to get to the nuts.
