Thanks Dave and thankyou everyone else for the kind words. Dad is very poorly his stroke is the worst kind, basically he's suffered a large bleed on the right front side on his brain. It's heart braking to see and so upsetting. We still don't know what the final prognosis will be, we just have to take it one day at a time. Ultimately my Dad is the reason I post on here because his love of Norwich City was passed on to me as a young lad. Once again, thank you all.

Sorry to hear that your Dad is so poorly KIO and as you say, only time will tell how severely his and all of your lives have been changed by his stroke.
Warmest thoughts for you and all who have been affected.

So so sorry mate. That's horrible. I went thorough something a bit like that with my Grandad over Christmas a couple of years ago. So so hard visiting and seeing them in the bed, lost a lot of weight. i didn't know it was my Grandad when I walked through the ward.

I really hope for the best mate. All my prayers are with you. x

Good to see you although I wish the news was better, my brother-in-law had a massive stroke a couple of years ago, it's marvelous what help is available now, it's along road but I'm sure you will help your father to get back a decent quality of life. At least he knows you are there for him and that will help him too.

Best wishes to you all, take care my friend and I'll see you in April! <hug>

That's awful news fella, we may not often see eye to eye over relatively superficial things like our football club, but when it comes to the real stuff that really matters like this you have my total, 100% support.

Today was the 10th anniversary of my Dad passing away, he had a heart attack and went in his sleep, bless him. He was only 59 and it breaks my heart to know that he never got to meet his grandchildren, or they him, and like your Dad, he was the reason I became a Canary all those years ago, he bought me my first season ticket when I was knee-high to a grasshopper. I think of him every day, but days like this make all the memories come flooding back, thankfully I have so many fantastic memories of times we spent together, as I'm sure you have with your Dad. Treasure those as they are amongst the most precious things we have in life.

Hope you and your family are ok mate, and hope your Dad shows some improvement and is doing ok. Very best wishes

Sorry to hear of your problems, KIO, it´s never nice to see those you love, suffer. My own Dad had a stroke, ten, twelve years ago now, which left him partially paralysed in one arm, practically blind and with slurred speech, and we all thought at the time, the best release would be for him to go in his sleep. But he had other ideas, and is still alive today. As it happened, and as is often the case, it was my Mum who died shortly afterwards instead, so if yours is still living, give her some special care at this time, too. My Dad still looks after himself in his own home in Wymondham, and he ´ll be ninety-one next birthday, he listens to City every week on the radio, and I ring him after every game, and he still complains about how he wished they´d play like in the ´old days´, by which he means the 1940´s and 50´s, so these things don´t always have a tragic ending.

Don´t give up on him just yet.

    all the best

Really sorry to hear that fell, thoughts are with you. My grandfather had a very similar thing a few years ago so I understand the waiting and no knowing. All the best.

Our thoughts are with you KIO, I hope it all works out well. My father died aged 30 when I was 9 months old so I never got to a game with him. He biked from Shipdham to Norwich for all the home games. Stay strong for your family.
