Any board where posters slip in Home Alone references is doing fine.

I especially like these threads where we slag each other off for 'ruining' things for others. As long as we remember it just an internet forum for people with a sad obsession with a basket case football club, perspective can be maintained. None of it matters, and it's certainly not worth getting upset about.

It has got a bit duller on the OT side, which is my main interest, and Nines has posted a very cogent explanation for this. This is why I break the board rules regularly (not deliberately) by taking threads away from their original topic - the one about Leicester fans ending up as a debate on foxes and animal behaviour, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I don't enjoy the immediate slagging off of most visitors from other clubs, as the ability to share with other clubs' fans is one of the key differences about this site. But some can be tiresome.

But every one who posts has the key ingredient, a senseless love of QPR, and a few are funny, informative, good writers or all three. Some of us can be monomaniacs on some things (guilty - Barton and Redknapp, no apology) easy to tune out though.

Don't beat yourself up, Dog Whisperer.

Firstly I would like to wish you all a happy Christmas.

I personally think this is a cracking QPR forum with some top posters. If everyone just agreed with each other then It would be very dull and pointless in my own opinion.

That's the beauty of the beast, we have somewhere to debate our own ideas about how we should be playing or how the club should be run.

I often read the WATRBS forum and it's very much the same as here but with different members, you will read the same sort of arguments as you get over here.

If my own contribution to our forum is getting on anyone's nerves then I apologies. I will put my hands up in the air and admit I do talk a lot of s**t in the name of fun. I'm not going anywhere but If this is doing any posters heads in then I promise to rein it in!

    All the best to everyone,

    Greg!

I chased down Nine's post to which you refer. Our glorious leader does make a fair point although stating a response as speculative is not a bad thing (and nobody can tar you for it).

For me, your Turkish thread was something that I had no even vague knowledge of and so, when pushed for time, I just read it more as a news article and browsed through a few others (possibly with a few sentences thrown in that were already opinions pre-reading). Without pre-conceptions, there wasn't much to add (except possibly drawing on other's info).

I love the OT threads too and have no problem highlighting my ignorance (the Economics lesson a case in point) or throwing a poorly supported opinion into the mix (my opinions are as good as my knowledge and they improve in unison so if someone can rationally convince me of latent flaws then I'm happy to move my position accordingly).

I'm not very up on the news and I rarely read non fiction so am not very good at starting OT threads sadly (doesn't stop me spouting hot air though....).

Seeing as this thread is titled "FAO COL", here's one for Colly from the Norwich Board. I'm sure he'll like this!

Hallo boys sitting outside the EuroTunnel waiting to come home...Blimey I go away to EuroDisney for 5 days...and I miss a fantastic match...a great come back, a hattrick. And even this board attempts a self inflicted introspective implosion of contemplation of our own navels..
Get a grip.......We are on the up...We are back on the rollercoaster....going upwards....

It will be a great year to be an R...oops tunnel calling...see u on the other side....

I for one dropped off posting a couple of times this year. I travel lots so this is sometimes due to work and not a focus on the internet. Swords has pissed me off several times. It gets too personal - but it is a forum and he is a WUM so it is what it is. I have dropped off - but was never a regular anyway. It feels the board became more cliquey someone - lots of posts about other posters - some great posts from newbie totally ignored - we had one USA poster who I thought did some great new ideas - no one responded and then he seems to go away after 2 or three attempts. So it's a board - more people will be at home and posting over the next few weeks.

999's - it is not you - you are better than most mods... head up mate and merry xmas

One more post from me on this thread.

Mr 9's, you have nothing to worry about. It looks like we all agree that we are very lucky to have you as our moderator.

Many thanks for your time and keep up the good work mate!

I agree with most posts on here, we're an eclectic mix and our naughty boys are as much what makes it work as those that stay on the straight and narrow. I fully understand why Roller decided to take a back seat and was amazed he stuck it out for so long.

Equally, I think, considering the job he does, we are very lucky to have Nines as a very able Mod, his time can be limited by his work but he keeps producing excellent Match threads...

Don't know about other guys who are away from "home"/HQ but this board reminds me of what I left behind all those years ago - it's no different than being in the pub on a Saturday night after the game, with everyones different opinions on how the match panned out.

Nines, you a a great Mod, who we are fortunate to have, and are carrying the high standards set by Brix - you have my support. I may not post 20 times a day, but still drop in several times a day to see what's going on. There are some lively characters on here, and this forum would not be what it is without them, and although sometimes there are harsh words said between some of us, I doubt any if it is truly meant in a vindictive way - personally I'm thich skinned enough to ignore any pish that someone posts on here - it's only words!!

Keep posting guys - merry Christmas, all the best for 2015

    U Rrrrrrrs!!!
