Tonight in the circle restaurant nothing of real interest, Adam usual media trained polished performance praising the allam's etc (ehab was present), hope i'm wrong but got the feeling his days with us are coming to an end

Nick was very diplomatic despite some embarrassing questions from the audience, why can't we play wingers on the right side etc

Probably most entertaining our fitness coach sean rush, hull lad and obviously massive city fan, top man

All in all not a bad night, free beer on the allam's too

It was a bit of an odd one really, none of the submitted questions were actually asked and though they did take questions from the floor, it was set up to make it difficult to ask anything controversial. Also, there's normally a free bar, but this time we just got a voucher for a single free drink, cheapskates...

A brief summary of each speaker...

Wigley - Seems a nice bloke, who genuinely sounds excited to be with us. He described his seven weeks with us under Dowie as being grim, he took a bit of a pop at the attitude of some of the old players and the bad atmosphere at the club, stressing that it was the polar opposite of how things are now. He was asked why players can't play with both feet nowadays, he says they can, other than left footers, who he said were always completely one-footed. He made some interesting points about the amount of games at the moment and the ethic instilled in the players, he said terms like 'Mad March' were never used in the dressing room and all the players knew they just had to get on with the job and there was an attitude of no moaning about aches and pains, that they had a job to do and they just had to get on with it. Some of the older players are given the odd extra day off when we're playing twice a week, but Dawson never takes his.

Rush - He speaks as much like a fan, as he does as a member of the coaching staff, he's very obviously pleased with his role at the club. He said the current playing staff were brilliant to work with, also making some reference to the last lot not having the same sort of attitude. He also spoke about the training regime's etc, most of it was as you'd expect, though they all had a bit of a laugh about Hobbs, who hey have trouble stopping training, apparently they have to reign him back all the time, as he tries to do too much.

Those two were interviewed first(by the fat dj), AP and Nick were sat on the front row and there was a fair bit of banter between Nick and the pair of them, it was very obvious that they're good mates.

Adam - As PCT says, he was his usual self, a very polished performance. He made a bit of a speech at the start about the fact that the club wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the Allam's, the club had £51m in total debts and had only £250k in assets and HMRC made it clear to us that there was no deal to be done. The speech was cleverly done, the way it was presented made it pretty much impossible to ask about why there weren't more additions in January, without looking like an ungrateful twat, so nobody did. Also, as PCT has mentioned, though he said he was enjoying his role and wanted to carry on, it sounded a bit like a goodbye speech and he sorted of hinted that him leaving wouldn't be his decision, but that of the Allam's.

Nick - As with Rush, he spoke as much as a fan of the club, as he did as the manager, as he usually does. He was very prickly when asked about playing left footers on the right and right footers on the left and why our wingers cut inside rather than trying to pass a man and cross. He said the players are not coached on going inside or outside, just as he never was, he said it was something that the players should be doing instinctively. He was so prickly, that no-one else asked him any more specifics about how he set the team up. He said that AP fields all his calls from agents etc and he doesn't know he'd manage without him, he stressed how much he wanted him to stay at the club(this immediately after AP answered the question about his ongoing role at the club).

The other things discussed were how poor the reserve league was and that we get far more benefit from the behind closed doors games we play against other clubs in Yorkshire, there's a lot of games played apparently, we've already played Sheffield United three times this season and the games are much better than our reserve games.

At the start of the night, there was a video showing all our goals this season, I had planned to make a joke about it being a very good video, but didn't people think it was a bit short. AP's impassioned speech about the investment that had already been made put me off raising the issue of not singing a striker in January. My submitted question about the future plans for an academy were not raised at all, perhaps they thought that was one that Assen needed to answer.

No mention of the pitch then?

It doesn't sit easy with me when our club has these sort of events and they are a complete whitewash with reasonable, but difficult, questions being ignored or not even raised.

The pitch was mentioned, Nick just said the groundsmen were doing what they could, that it is what it is and they just had to deal with it and get on with playing. He said a lot of clubs were having similar problems this year, specifically mentioning Palace, who he said had an equally **** pitch.

No it won't.

Brownie hit the nail on the head when he said we needed somebody between AP and Duffen. AP lacks any ambition for us to be a Premier League club.

Utter bollocks as normal.

If you understood the workings at the club, you wouldn't post such nonsense, you haven't the slightest idea how big a loss he will be, though I suspect you will find out in time.

Adam spoke last night about how gutted he was that he was no longer involved when the club made it to the Premier League, he has no doubt that we are on our way back and you could tell that he was half expecting that once again circumstances might conspire to see him not being involved again.

Adam Pearson is more important to Hull City AFC than any single member of the playing staff.

I dont see Adam going at all. Far to much is being made of what he said. Nick stated that he needed Adam in place and IMO the Allams dont know enough about football to even think of getting rid of Adam. Imo, it wont happen. The Allams will only get there money back once City are back in the PL. The PL wont happen without Adam and Nick. I bet that Nick will walk if Adam is released. The way i took Adams comments were to quash the constant rumours that Adam will leave Hull City now that he has FC. ffs, Fc runs itsself now almost. £51m spent by the Allams saving the club. Some people dont know how lucky we are. Nevermind the moaning about no january signings. We are very very lucky to have a club doing so well.

Adam and Nick know that they can get the players they want in the summer and for alot less than in Jan. The free transfer list is massive and many clubs will be having a fire sale. It also appears that Birmingham City are alot closer to liquidation than some think. Hull City are in a very good place at the moment regardless of which league we are in next season. Adam says that NB will get us there sooner rather than later. Contracts for the players they want to keep will be improved and extended and the ones who leave in the summer (deal ends and they can go) will be replaced by Nicks players who he wants at the club. I loved the bit when Nick got very annimated when he says all the lads want to be @ Hull City nowhere else. Sean Rush added that they are as fit as any squad he has known.
There is no reason whatsoever to be down. The future is very bright for the club. One thing that Nick said that was interesting is that non of the lads are ready yet for PL. Which i think was reference to Brady going out on loan to a PL club next season. SAF thinks RB needs PL experience next. The summer looks like being very interesting though. imo.

any specifics on why you feel Adam Pearson is ready to devote all his time to Ulleffsee? Gestures? Reading between lines? Or simply what seems obvious?

It sounds like the crowd was a bunch of pussies if they didn't dare ask vital questions at the expense of looking a little ungrateful <laugh>

But there's both good and bad in there, thanks for the notes <ok€

would it be such a big loss if (say) Terry Venebles came in to replace him? I think we all owe a debt of gratitude to Adam Pearson, but at the end of the day, he is doing no more than earning a crust and if a better opportunity arises, like all of us, we look to move on and better ourselves. There are others who could do the job that Adam Pearson is doing for Hull City, and we have to trust those who run the club to find the right person.

Incidentally, does anyone know if Phil Hough has survived the various culls??

You didn't really need to read between the lines, he said he was very happy with his current role, but if the Allam's decided that his role wasn't necessary, then he would understand and move on(it was then that Nick chipped in with 'it's very necessary and I hope he's around for a long time to come'). I think the whole thing was aimed at Ehab.

Sorry but thats nonsense. The Allams dont know enough about football to make that call. Adam knows the game and how to make deals and handle agents which has been the main reason why the others previously at the club racked up such massive debts. Nick needs Adam to handle that side of things. This thing about Adam leaving for FC is beyond belief. AP has people in place there who run things for him. AP has the best of both worlds at the moment. His cake and he gets to eat it ALL.

If AP goes it will be a MASSIVE loss to the Club.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is either blind, stupid or has another agenda.

EHAB, whilst a nice young man knows nowt about football. It would be pure and utter madness to think they could do without Adam Pearson. The Allams are no fools and they have 51million reasons why Adam has to be key to them getting there money back.

Why would The Allams want rid of Pearson?
