I unashamedly pinched this off of OTIB, it shows what the Portsmouth fans did, is this the route we should follow..? please log in to view this image Fantastic picture.... http://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/topic/159207-promoting-supporter-ownership/
I agree, it is is a fantastic picture On the flip side they are also a fantastic advert for how not to run a football club under several regimes and 'Dodgy Harry' and their decline has been even more spectacular than our own, and that's saying something. Let's face it they shouldn't be in existance now and had it not been for some manouevering they would be history. They've also now sacked their manager, so maybe there is something we can learn from them ?
No, unless fans had tens of millions to purchase the FC and its stadium, or the owners would allow a sale to fans where they paid only a nominal amount in every pound and share. Is this the route we should follow..? Substitute we for Steve Lansdown. Everything begins and starts there. Ten years ago or so Mr Lansdown changed the clubs rules so fans could not own the FC. 2006 - 07 BCFC and its fans ceased to own Ashton Gate.
