Very impressed with him - spoke the truth as well. I think anyone with a brain can see the better team lost tonight.
I think Nani will be looking at a six, maybe nine game ban once that horror tackle is reviewed - to quote SAF: "It could have killed the lad" I don't know who it was he assaulted, but he's lucky to still be breathing after that mugging. Disgraceful.
As a neutral, can't help but think some of that was crafty Jose getting his job application in early. You could do a lot worse. Loved the soundbyte when he said "if somebody wants me, I would love to return to the Prem"....loosely translated .. "form a queue with the cheque books please!"
Real were below par. United should have beaten a side tired from the Copa del rey match. JM was trying to get himself a job by being humble. Can't believe anyone would fall for his mind games
We were still tired from the Manchester City game. Mourinho didn't seem to want to stick the knife into Fergie or the United fans which is very unlike him.
In a nutshell, this is exactly what he was doing. Utd fans are falling for his faux deference to them last night. But basically he was just arse licking and engineering his move to Utd once Fergie pops his clogs.
Can't believe you've fallen for his mind games. JM does United and Fergie every time on and off the field
This. I reckon Jose has got his eye on Fergies job. Humility does not come natrally to Jose, his post match interview and leaving the dugout quietly looked like an attempt to appease the fans, he doesn't want to end up in Rafas position. Unlucky last night, with 11 men it could have been oh so different.
United were as much the better team as Real were at the Bernebau. It was close but Real edged it and over the 2 ties it's hard to say they didn't deserve it.
How does Real just edging it (against ten men) sit with your theory that English clubs are a long way off from being able to compete in Europe?
Real aren't even a top 3 side in Europe and are in disarray and came in off the backlog of a ridiculously tough schedule. All pundits agree United played very well in both legs, all pundits agree Real weren't at their best. If an under par Real can beat United (pretty much by virtue of 2 goals) tells you all you need to know
If United can't beat a below par Real, they may well have struggled v Bayern, Juve, Dortmund, Barca etc. Red cards happen in Europe: even to United. We got a red v Barca, sucked it up and turned round a 2 goal deficit. Also, the ref did not drop Rooney and cede 64 per cent possession at home in the first half
Real did not look under par to me, in fact I would say they would destroy Chavski home and way by quite a big margin.
How were Real the better team in the Bernebau exactly? United's overall possession wasn't that bad and Real were limited to a **** loads of long hopeful shots after that early Coentrao effort while United had plenty of clear chances to have scored more, not really sure how that makes them better at their place.
