So we failed to bring anyone in to help us get out of trouble. However 15 clubs in our division managed to strengthen their teams. The team above us and ALL teams below managed to strengthen their teams for the final games.

    19th placed Bury - SIGNED 2
20th placed Rovers - SIGNED NO ONE
    21st placed Wycombe - SIGNED 1
22nd placed Portsmouth - SIGNED 1 (just a couple of hours after their manager took over)
    23rd placed Northampton - SIGNED 1
    24th placed Torquay - SIGNED 1

Here is a list of loan deals that took place yesterday in our division.

Kwesi Appiah [Crystal Palace - Wimbledon] Loan
Adam Barton [Coventry - Fleetwood] Loan
Ryan Brobbel [Middlesbrough - York] Loan
Baily Cargill [Bournemouth - Torquay] Loan
Billy Daniels [Coventry - Cheltenham] Loan
Scott Harrison [Sunderland - Hartlepool] Loan
Ashley Hemmings [Walsall - Burton] Loan
Danny Hollands [Charlton - Portsmouth] Loan
Hallam Hope [Everton - Bury] Loan
John Marquis [Millwall - Northampton] Loan
Sean McGinty [Sheffield United - Rochdale] Loan
Jacob Murphy [Norwich - Southend] Loan
Jordan Mustoe [Wigan - Morecambe] Loan
Connor Oliver [Sunderland - Hartlepool] Loan
Danny Rose [Barnsley - Bury] Loan
Danny Rowe [Rotherham - Wycombe] Loan
Blair Turgott [West Ham - Dagenham] Loan

Obviously some of these players are not better than what we already have so may not improve us on the pitch. However they may be better than some of the players at the clubs who they have signed for and therefore could improve them!

Surely there must have been at least 1 player available who is not getting 1st team football, who is fit and ready to be a hero??

To be honest signing players on loan shows a bit of a weakness in the squad. Ward obviously believes he has a good pool of players to choose from and it is pointless disrupting things at this stage.

Time will tell, but it looks as though Ward is planning for next season. But of course everything hinges on not getting drawn into a relegation spot.

The lads can definitely win a few of the games coming up and with a few draws as well we will be ok and wonder what all the fuss was about.

Yes, there's no point in signing players for the sake of it - Andy Bond springs to mind - but it is clear that we need a pacy striker and we should have signed one on loan 'til the end of the season.

This failure could mean the difference between conference and league football.

I just wonder how financially drained we are after the TRASHorfield saga.
Every day has cost us money which, I presume, was not budgeted for.

Good point. However, I'd hope that the playing budget and the UWE funds would be kept separate - but you never know - it could be that indirectly Radice, Scrafton, Willingham et al could be repsonsible for our slide out of the league <grr>
