You would think they would learn eh?

Us Scots used to be the same. Then Argentina '78 happened and we learned from that experience.

But come the next major tournament, whether it be rugby or football, the English will have it won before a ball is even kicked. Especially when it's football.

    Don't care. Rugby's a stupid sport.

Not having helicopter send-offs from Hampden anymore is not learning. England have never had a helicopter send-off ever. The media certainly build it up too much but that's nothing to do with English fans. Like the song says, land of hope and glory. We're allowed to have hope because we've had glory. You've had round one exits every time so not much hope there.

On a more interesting note, the boyfriend of that girl who disappeared has made a televised appeal. The police get them to do that when they're suspects so the psychologists can watch how they deal with it. He's in the frame.

On the first note instead of helicopter send offs they have Sky Sports following the team bus to the airport with regular updates instead. If anyone can remember the Engand go the World Cup thread on 606 they'll remember how funny that was.

On the 2nd point I have no idea who you're talking about but having a police officer in the family who worked on the Jodi Jones case it usually does turn out to be a boyfriend or family member so you're probably right.

Why are you posting a fake pic from the Scum to counter my argument that the media are the ones who hype it up?

Isn't that what the kids nowadays call a Fail?

As a Liverpool fan I won't click on the link, thanks.

Hampden send-off organised by the SFA and attended by thousands of fans. Following a coach with a camera organised by the media. Again, not really countering my point.

Oh, a thread on 606. Ahh, well, why didn't you just play that trump card at the beginning? I'm truly lost for an argument in the face of that. No, really, words fail me.

I'm not arguing with you ya daft ****. I was merely remembering a very funny thread from the BBC site. It wasn't actually 606, it was on the old BBC Fan's Forum site. They had a special Old Firm forum and they actually warned people before entering that it wasn't for you if you had a nervous disposition.

It was more like General Chat on here than that piss poor excuse 606.

I thought it was an open topped bus that they were cheered off to.

StereoTypist is right though, after that let down I never took anything for granted with Scotland. Back in the days when England could not even bribe their way into the World Cup.

England should learn the same humble approach considering they have done **** all of any note since 1966.
