Tottenham 1-1 Bolton The game has been abandoned after Fabrice Muamba recieved CPR on the pitch after collapsing in the game. He wasn't breathing and was still not breathing as he was rushed to hospital. There were tears in the eyes of both sets of players. I'll post more as I hear it.
The latest news on Fabrice Muamba is that medical staff were still trying to resuscitate him on his way to hospital. ESPN have reported that Bolton boss Owen Coyle and club captain Kevin Davies are set to join him there.
very.very sad, then the most boring man in the world, gordon taylor comments on the radio, I had to switch him off..
Let's pray that's he's ok but it's definitely not looking good. Thoughts and prays are with him and his family at this time.
Horrific stuff, and unfortunately all too common. I saw the game was suspended on Livescores iPhone app and I just knew something had happened to a player. Hopefully this will spark the games governing bodies to raise awareness and invest in research to identify the causes and identify players at risk. Hope beyond anything that Fabrice Muamba makes a full recovery.
Terrible scenes. Was watching the game and you knew that it was serious by the way the players reacted. Thoughts to him and his family now and I hope he pulls through. Credit to the fans as well. I thought John Barnes spoke well in terms of football fans uniting to support the lad and it doesn't really matter who you're a fan of. I remember something similar happening to Clive Clarke and I hope the outcome is the same
Thank god for that. Incredible background story as well http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...ng-and-cost-uncle-his-life-article746071.html
Just read all in Wiki, he came here in '99 following his dad who came here in '94 and by 2002 he was in Arsenal academy and 2005 signed his first pro contract. Quite a story!
Terrible situation, not sure if everyone has seen the player reactions, from both teams... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ottenham-v-Bolton-FA-Cup-sixth-round-tie.html
Considering he was an Arsenal trainee also. Fantastic support all over the country on web pages, hope for a speedy recovery and back playing
Im delighted with the reaction of the spurs fans. We can refer to a recent thread about the Derby fans where theirs amd other clubs fans behavior has been questioned but... lets not shower people with praise for behaving as they ought to behave. Dont get me wrong, today's incident very nearly brought a tear to my eye and Im not sure why and the uniting of two sets of fans over something like this is inspiring (and as unimportant as this is, great for the reputation of the game when its ethics are constantly called into question (particularly by the egg chuckers)) but spurs fans didn't do anything that A: almost any other clubs fans would do and B: anything other clubs fans have done in the past when in a similar situation. Just wanted to make the point that out of everything that has happened today, the correct behavior of people isn't highlighted above the issue of improving screening and research into identification and prevention of these situations.
Things are looking up... Fabrice Muamba "has been able to recognise family members and respond to questions appropriately", his club Bolton and hospital have jointly said. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17419654
